Last night, two things happened which surely the Romney and Obama campaigns took notice of.
RINO Dick Lugar went spectacularly down in flames (despite the invaluable Peggy Noonan endorsement) yesterday because he went squishy on us. Wait. He didn’t just go squishy. He’d taken squish on as his permanent form. The Romney campaign must take notice of this -no longer will conservatives accept liberalism which calls itself moderation.
This is two cycles in a row where RINO’s got the boot from conservative voters.
If Romney tries to go tack left now that the primary’s essentially over, he will go to the left alone. (Peggy Noonan might follow if she’s not still waxing eloquent about Obama.) I think Republicans made a big mistake in choosing Romney because I’m pretty sure what he says now ain’t the final “evolution” of Mitt Romney. And there’s lot of folks who are going into this election working hard to maintain a suspension of disbelief about Romney. But if Romney tacks left, many will wave to him as he recedes into the distance.
Speaking of evolving. Barack Obama’s White House has been signaling to folks that his position on gay marriage is “evolving.” This is his way of saying that if you vote for me I’ll stand with you. It’s kinda’ like when he transmitted to Vladimir that he’d have more…flexibility…in his second term.
Last night’s refutation of gay marriage by the electorate in North Carolina has to send shivers up Obama’s spine. It’s become clear to everyone that Obama is for gay marriage he’s just too wimpy to say it. Virginia, a few years ago, voted against gay marriage too. Obama won North Carolina in 2008. I’m pretty sure his “evolution” which the voters stood against last night is going to help him.

And don't forget that the Democratic National Convention is going to be held in North Carolina.

As in nature, this "evolution" involves transforming an invertabrate into a vertabrate.
Of course, even Darwin acknowledged there are a few key links missing to demonstrate the truth of the matter.
So if nature hasn't accomplished it in eons, what's to say Mr. Obama will be able to develop a spine in a few months…?

Obama got North Carolina with a .03% margin. So, he won with a margin that is smaller than the margin of error. I don't think he is depending on North Carolina.
I will be amazed if Romney tacks left at all, because I already think he will lose. He is stupid, but is he that stupid? What I think is likely to happen is nonstop hysterical anti-Obama propaganda. Remember those pills made of babies from China? The GOP will claim those are Obama's multivitamin.
Romney can't run on his own track record, so he will run against the Obamination. There will be rumors of animal sacrifice in the Rose Garden. And pictures of dead babies in my feed reader again- this would make some sort of sick sense if you were trying to incite me to do something else, but voting for these lying GOP posers? It is just stupid.

Gay civil unions went down in flames in Colorado last night too.

August,
You put it right down the plate regarding the "lying GOP posers" – and I hate to say it – but I hope no one else voting for the elephants recognizes this fact.
For the sake of my children and my taxes (in that order), in fact, yes, I would like to see the car careen over the cliff at a slightly slower rate of descent.
A property unique, by the way, to AMC products and their offspring…

The best message to Obama was sent by the voters in West Virginia. An inmate received 40% of the vote in the democratic primary!!

anyone want to give the over/under on Romney asking Santorum to be his running mate to up his conservative cred?

I believe that George W. Bush was re-elected in '04 because the State of Massachusetts had recently legalized "homosexual marriage". Let's hope the opposition to "homosexual marriage" will help Romney this time.

I don't remember how I swerved into your excellent blog, but I really enjoyed this post, so much so that it is "Post of the Day" at teriobrien.com Please check it out!

The primary is not over despite the MSM coronation of their RINO Romney and the GOPs illegal campaigning for him. It's all about the delegates. It's pretty hard to miscount actual delegates, discard, hide or flip the count like they have been doing with the primary straw polls. The delegate count is a much better representation of the peoples will. How does the creator of Romneycare "tack left"? You don't GET more "left" than state controlled "healthcare".

Did you know that Pres. Obama told ABC's Robin Roberts that he now supports same-sex marriage?
This issue, sadly, reflects a growing and, perhaps, irreparable rift between the intelligencia (politicians, pundits, academics, media, "progressive" Christianity) and the rest of the nation.

As, frankly, does Peggy Noonan's endorsement of Sen. Lugar.
In Novemeber, the Democrats are going to be route in such a fashion that would make Roosevelt's landslide over Landon look like Bush. v. Gore in 2000.

The primary is not over
Yes. Yes it is. I say this as someone who loathes Romney and will not vote for him in the general election. But the fat lady has sung on this. Anybody who still thinks this is an open issue is akin to the Japanese cave dwellers who still thought World War II was going on decades after Hiroshima.

So, Paul, are you going to vote for Obama?
May 10, 2012 at 10:04 am
Goin' into the voting booth holding my nose and pulling the lever for Romney. The Chicago Jesus must not be rewarded with another term especially after his assault on right of conscious and religious rights.

The Obama attack dogs are out. Makes sense to smear Romney when you're being beaten at the polls by a convict. Romney flip-flops but Obama "evolves" sheesh legs must a be a tingling.
Ride right through them, the Democrats are demoralized as hell.

Even hippy-dippy Maine voted last year to prohibit same-sex marriage. Of course they are gearing up to get it on the ballot again. THe battle is ongoing, these people never give up. Perhaps we should go the way of NC and put it in the state Constitution.

What, and let perfectly good "puppy chow" go to waste?
