Palin Would be Popular if She Aborted Baby

We’ve often said that Sarah Palin would be extraordinarily popular with the media if she’d only aborted her child. That comment, however, is often seen as bombastic or hyperbolic.

But here’s the thing. It’s true. And now a columnist from US News and World Report even says so.

Bonnie Erbe wrote a piece called “Republicans Must Learn From Palin’s Brave Admission That She Weighed An Abortion:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin displayed one minute aspect of her personality that even I could take a shine to. Speaking last night to an anti-abortion rights dinner in Indiana, Gov. Palin told the crowd about her struggle with her fifth pregnancy last year. She found out she was pregnant while on a trip out of town. Her son, Trig, was born with Down syndrome. She actually said publicly that she considered having an abortion on that trip—not an easy admission, especially before such a judgmental group…

Yes. We’re the judgmental folks. Erbe’s the one who essentially says that you have to either be for killing children or preferably actually killed a child in order to get her appreciation.

Just imagine the love note she’d have written to her if she’d gone through with it.

They’d love her almost as much as they’re pretending to love Meghan McCain or her father who has made a career of criticizing the GOP.

But have you heard one comment anywhere condemning Sarah Palin from those “judgmental” pro-lifers for her admission that abortion crossed her mind. She said at the speech:

“There, just for a fleeting moment, I thought, I knew, nobody knows me here. Nobody would ever know. I thought, wow, it is easy. It could be easy to think maybe of trying to change the circumstances. No one would know. No one would ever know…I had just enough faith to know that trying to change the circumstances wasn’t any answer.”

This canard of pro-life judgementalism is really ridiculous.

Pro-abortion folks can’t even admit there’s something wrong with abortion so how can they help women who have had abortions who are feeling guilty.

Thousands of women are in pain because of what they’ve done. And who offers counseling? The Church and other pro-life organizations. And then Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers just say that the only reason these women are feeling guilty is because evil pro-lifers keep telling them that what they did was wrong.

So pro-lifers ask women not to kill the unborn, we pray that they accept the little human life growing within them, and then pro-life organizations counsel the women after they do so. And pro-lifers are the evil ones?

You wouldn’t think the actual abortion providers had any responsibility in this whatsoever other than cashing the check.
