French Riot police firing tear gas and brandishing batons clashed Tuesday with bands of youths who shattered windows and looted shops at a major Paris train station, officials said. Nine people were arrested. The riot was apparently caused by calls for the French people to work more than 15 hours per week and to consider going to church every once in a while.
