I love this.
During a soccer match on Easter Sunday, opposing soccer fans chanted at each other.
However these were not the usual taunts one would expect from soccer fans. The opposing fans took turns chanting “Christ Is Risen” and “Truly He Is Risen.”
Awesome.
Moscow, April 5, Interfax – Fans greeted each other on Easter at a Sunday evening soccer match at Moscow Lokomotiv stadium.
At the beginning of the second half of the match thousands of fans of Dynamo team started chanting “Christ is Risen!”, an Interfax correspondent reports.
Thousands of fans of Lokomotiv teeam on the opposite side of the stadium responded by chanting “Truly He is Risen!”
The exchange took place several times.
The correspondent who has attended soccer matches for almost 50 years says it was the occurrence of this kind in the history of Russian soccer.

Interesting. It's hard to say, actually, how much was religious versus actually good manners; I live in Moscow and when I was coming home on Easter a bunch of my neighbors were smoking outside. The traditional formal greeting that was expected was replaced with Khristos Voskrese and I was looked at expectantly until I replied Voistinu Voskrese.
But it is really unusual for that kind of niceness at a soccer match, so it probably does have atleast some religious intent.

I'd exchange them for the Democrats here. I think being Democrat and believing in Christ is mutually exclusive.

Russia will rise again when they remember that they are truly at heart a Christian nation. Long live Holy Mother Russia.

Just goes to prove that when the devil tries to bring the Church down somewhere, Jesus raises it up in another place. The Church will never die. "The gates of hell will not prevail against it". That praise of him from Russia, went directly to the heart of God.

If any of y'all want to help Russia, please consider supporting Mary Mother of God Mission in Vladivostok — they are truly amazing. They have a half-hour video of their history and their mission, and I promise it will move you.

I can't imagine that happening here in the US. The news media would have heart failure and the ACLU would be out for scalps.

The Holy Mother did say : "Consecrate Russia to me and it will be reborn unto Him". Sounds like it's beginning! God Bless Russia and all its citizens!

Maybe the American fans ought to take a hint from this and be believers in God instead of only worshipping sports figures.
