Men. Jobs.
So many men find their identity in their jobs. So when a man loses his job it can be tough. It is particularly tough when a man is out of a job for an extended period of time. You begin to question yourself, you may even begin to question your manhood.
If Tim Roach questioned his own manhood after six months of unemployment, consider the question asked and answered. Tim Roach is a man, a good man.
In mid February, Tim, got a call from his local union with the news every laid off worker longs to hear — a job offer.
It couldn’t have come at a better time. Tim’s unemployment benefits were about to run out. He could hardly believe what the voice on the other end was presenting to him — an offer to be a job foreman for at least 11 months, with a salary of $65,000 to $70,000 a year.
Perfect, Tim thought. Then came the bad news — he would be working on construction of a new Planned Parenthood Clinic in St. Paul on University Avenue. The highest of highs became the lowest of lows as he quickly turned down the offer.
Tim’s Union rep tried to get him to reconsider saying he wasn’t sure if abortions would be performed there but he simply responded, “It’s a Planned Parenthood. No.”
God bless you Tim. You are a man, a man after God’s heart and the Lord takes care of his own.

I don't have a lot to give, but I've been unemployed and I know how hard that would have been.

Matt and Pat: Please find this man and have him contact me. There is plenty of construction work in the DC area. He and his family may have to relocate, but it might be worth a shot.

This is a good thing and this is the third time I've crossed this story today in three different sources. A question keeps coming to mind: How did we find out about this? Did he call his pastor and say, "Hey, I just turned down a $75,000 job at an abortion mill! Aren't I great?" I hope, and I do pray, that he will find a position that doesn't request him to compromise his stance but I can't help but think that we could be reading stories of this type everyday if every time a person with moral convictions chooses not to sin broadcasts their strength against the temptor…sorry to be a snot.

This isn't prayer where we are to shut the door. Would you tell the same to St. Paul, hey Paul stop writing about being in prison for Christ already, suffer in silence. Or Justin Martyr, hey Justin just get martyred in private already. Yo Ignatius, stifle, just jump in that fire already. Sheesh. I want more more more stories like this, of person actually living their faith. Snot is not the term I would use.

Thank you everyone for having our family in your prayers. And for the snot comment I would have kept this silent but, a person that I know sent the word out, it wasn't me. I also would like to hear and read more peaple doing what I did because of faith and not plublicity.
