Well, this is not your run of the mill Lesbian DRE fired story!
A principal of a Philly Catholic school fired its long-known “married” (since 2007) lesbian DRE when, get this, the lesbian DRE objected to using the theology of the body to teach 6th, 7th, and 8th graders because it was too mature.
Honestly, I am so conflicted on this. I am totes with the “married” lesbian DRE on the issue at hand, other than, you know, being a “married” lesbian DRE.
The principal booted her and then issued this ridiculous statement of the Francis era “In the Mercy spirit, many of us accept life choices that contradict church teachings,” Stetser wrote, “but to continue as a Catholic school, Waldron Mercy must comply with those teachings, [now].” Ok, I added the now, but it was certainly impled.
Only after they found out that their “married” lesbian DRE was too conservative for them, did they seem to care about her being a “married” lesbian DRE and that “Mercy spirit” that allows us to openly oppose Church teaching had to be strangled to death.
Of course, the “Catholic” parents are rallying behind the DRE, but for all the wrong reasons!
You simply cannot make this stuff up!!
