Environmentally Friendly WMD

It has been said that if you live long enough, you’ll see just about everything. However this is one I didn’t expect.

Russia has announced the successful testing of the worlds most powerful fuel-air bomb. The destructive force of this bomb is the conventional equivalent of a nuclear weapon. A description:

Such devices generally detonate in two stages. First a small blast disperses a main load of explosive material into a cloud, which then either spontaneously ignites in air or is set off by a second charge.

This explosion generates a pressure wave that reaches much further than that from a conventional explosive. The consumption of gases in the blast also generates a partial vacuum that can compound damage and injuries caused by the explosion itself.

“The main destruction is inflicted by an ultrasonic shockwave and an incredibly high temperature,” the reports said. “All that is alive merely evaporates.

Wow. Sounds pretty scary, right? It is. However, there is an upside to this horrific weapon of mass destruction.

Rukshin said: “At the same time, I want to stress that the action of this weapon does not contaminate the environment, in contrast to a nuclear one.”

Wow! Did he just say that this is a green weapon of mass destruction? The eco-pagan cult has so successfully set the agenda for the past twenty years that governments now feel compelled to tout the environmental friendliness of WMD. Did I already say wow?

I guess it is good to know that plant life will grow back after detonation, but will the people?

It seems that the cult of ‘green’ has made inroads in the most unexpected of places.
