First: I had to struggle to keep my lunch down. Second: She said, "Every order that you can think off?" Those listed there are a but handful. I guess she doesn't think much or can't think at great lengths. (I'll see if I can come up with a comprehensive of list of relgious orders for women and compute just how much these dissents compare.)
Let's just man up and place the anger squarely on the shoulders of one who could actually prevent this travesty: our Holy Father in Rome who knows just what kind of woman and politician she is and who had all the power of the keys to kick this abortion-loving shrew out of the Church during her last photo op visit. Man up, I say!
If the sheep are bonkers and leading the rest of the sheep astray (and using religion and religious symbols to do so) look to the shepherd who allows her to frolic unchecked in the fold.
These are crazy times for Catholics. I remember all the emails I received titled "The Cafeteria is Closed!" when Ratzinger became Pope, when I knew that he had been deep-sixing the Marcel Maciel scandal for years. I don't know how long I can live with this cognitive dissonance, when I fear those in spiritual authority over me and my family are the worst of the worst.
People like Pelosi exploit this weakness, this effeminacy, this lack of good authority. She'll die a member of the Catholic Church, in full standing, buried with all its pomp, just like Ol' Ted. Corrupt, corrupt, corrupt.
Wiki lists 323 orders. There are 41 unique orders that alledgedly supported Obamacare, but 15 of them cannot be found. And when some of them have been contacted, they denied that the order supported the bill. I'll publish details at my site.
Did she say, "Every order that you could think of was there?" What about all of the orders (including the Sisters of Life) who publicly supported the Bishops?! Did Pelosi hear about that…or is she choosing to ignore it?
St. Joseph protected Jesus from the Slaughter of the Innocents. That St. Joseph will not intercede to enable the slaughter of present day day innocents – abortion.
How about a petition to de-list these orders and the Catholic Hospital Association from the Kennedy Directory? That would end their tax-exempt status!
If this "health care" bill does not provide funding for abortion as the Crypt Keeper (err… sorry, I mean Nancy Pelosi) claims, then I am not sure I understand her highlighting the importance of this legislation for women.
I'm also very impressed that she was able to find babies as young as 6 weeks who could talk about how important this is to them! When my son was 6 weeks, he could barely hold his head up… I wonder if she asked the opinion of any unborn children? Maybe we can get John Edwards to channel another unborn baby and ask (http://www.nytimes.com/2004/01/31/politics/campaign/31EDWA.html?pagewanted=1).

Isn't May 1st the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker? Today's feast celebrates his vocation as the adoptive father of Jesus, doesn't it?

"Two orders that had taught me were on this list." Explains a lot, doesn't it?

I can't even watch this clip. The idea sickens me to the core!

I started to make a joke that maybe she meant Joe Biden or Joe Stalin but you can't laugh at some point when someone is so very twisted.

Ananias and Sapphira should be pissed.

St Joseph, husband of Mary, pray for us.

She really has no clue, does she?
March 19, 2010 at 6:30 pm
Yes, today is the Feast of St. Joseph, spouse of Mary, not St. Joseph the Worker. Wow, her ignorance of the Faith is unbelievable.

Joe of St. Therese, I agree about an email campaign. I've posted an email I sent to Speaker Pelosi's archbishop here:
http://redcardigan.blogspot.com/2010/03/letter-to-pelosis-archbishop.html
I'd be happy for people to copy the basic format of the letter, adding their own concerns as needed.

*Sigh* Nancy Pelosi, keep your hands off St. Joseph!!!
Using an aging retired archbishop and 60-some-odd nuns are one thing… but abomination of taking a saint for the cause—life affirming?! Ah!!
Nancy, Nancy, Nancy… "Nancy (With The Laughing Face)" (NOT REALLY)

It's all so sad. She should pray to St. Joseph for humility, as should we who know we know better!

I'd like to smack that woman, Pelosi.
