I was lucky enough to have been asked by my good friend Fr. Barron at Word on Fire to try to enrich his pilgrimage web site with some short video clips on some of the places he’s been while making his really excellent Catholicism series. So he sent some folks from his crew to my office here at the Liturgical Institute and the result is a series of ten short videos on great artistic and architectural landmarks of the Church.

"Architecture and art become the vehicle for how we know our own heavenly future." So far so good. "This is very much in line with the second Vatican council." I think that the first statement is very much in line with the history of the church from day one, the SVC notwithstanding. So why bring up the SVC? It seems to be a non sequitir within the context of this clip, but in the larger context of the post SVC church, this could be justification for the "wreckovation" that has become the norm. I don't think that that is Mr. McNamara's goal, but why go there?
