Just days after Cardinal George awarded him a lifetime achievement award, the Rev. Michael Pfleger has been caught on tape openly dissenting and teaching heresy from the pulpit during mass!
In this stunning video from a Divine Mercy Sunday homily, Fr. Pfleger openly calls for female ordination and female bishops.
Pfleger says…
“That’s why there should be woman priests, that’s why there should be married priests, that’s why there should be woman Bishops and women Cardinals”
There is a good poke in the eye for Cardinal George. The Cardinal was already facing criticism for honoring Fr. Pfleger and Pfleger returned the favor by open dissent.
Cardinal George cannot let this stand, especially after just conferring an award. Pfleger must be disciplined and forced to retract his statements or immeasurable harm will be done to the faith. If Pfleger teaching this heresy goes unchallenged by the Cardinal, people will rightly conclude that the Cardinal supports these views, after all he did just give him an award.
Pfire Pfleger, now.
A big ht to Pewsitter for the Vid

I hope this video gets around…. UGGHHH he makes me sick. All the heretics are feeling their Wheaties now that the RCC is getting persecuted… I am glad there is documentation of who they are. Just yesterday, "Sister" Maureen Turlish posted a disgusting diatribe on Damien Thompsons blog saying we should think about charging the Pope with crimes against humanity! Another "Voice of the UnFaithful" member…

Yyyyeaaaah. I'm gonna file this one under, "and…?"
These morons (yes, I'm speaking about Pfleger AND George) just don't surprise me anymore.

Father Pfleger, et al, use the Catholic Church as a prop for their own massive egos and moral deficiencies. They wrap themselves in the mantle of whatever they find useful in the Church to bring attention to themselves as minor deities in their worlds of self-promotion. The Cardinal made a very egregious moral error in honoring Fr. Pfleger…but then His Eminence seems to lean upon the weak moral fence of liberalism…a fence that gives way to the stench and surface matter of the pig sty if not careful.

I'll get the tar boiling. You pluck a few chickens (I mean real ones, not those at the USCCB).

Pfleger should have never been honored in the first place. With all due respect to Cardinal George, the Cardinal has now put himself in a very bad position.

The cardinal is an orthodox and holy man. However, he has indeed put himself in a difficult situation. Fr. Pfleger has said previously that if he were moved from St. Sabina, he would simply start his own church. While I would normally say, "good, the sooner he's gone the better," I am sure the cardinal is concerned that a large part of his parish would follow him into schism and is trying to avoid this awful possibility.

With respect, has someone made the effort to inform Cardinal George of this? A few good bishops I know rarely have time to browse the internet looking for problems. I assume someone has drawn his attention to this latest breech?

Can someone post contact info for his bishop?

We've heard homilies like this in the Military Chapel system twice in our lives. The first time we were too young in our faith to know what to do other than find another parish. The second time we got a group together and wrote letters to then Military Archbishop Edwin O'Brien. His response was swift. The heretic priest was sent to a very, very remote location in Korea.
Often it is difficult to expose heretic priests to bishops, as bishops are very often unknowingly surrounded by dissenting staff that filter information before it gets to the bishop.
I think if we did have contact info for Cardinal George and enough of us exposed Fr. Pfleger for what he is, the information may get to the Cardinal.
In the meantime, pray for Fr. Pfleger's conversion. He appears steeped in the cult of personality.

"The second time we got a group together and wrote letters to then Military Archbishop Edwin O'Brien. His response was swift."
I now have "Archbishop Edwin O'Brien" as my Archbishop in Baltimore. He's great in his ministry!
As far as more dissenting views of clergy/relig. see here. It's from a program for the Murphy initiative for justice and peace. Perhaps, though I'm wrong and they're just ads in the program. I can always hope.

The low-prole decorations profaning the Altar enhance the message.

The Cardinal might have been a victim of the Stockholm syndrome – being in Chicago for awhile can take its toll. In psychology, Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express adulation and have positive feelings towards their captors that appear irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims.

The Cardinal has painted himself into a corner now. He can't go medievel on him, or he will appear ridiculous, having just honored him. On the other hand, silence implies consent.
What is most scandalous is not what Pfleger said – what's most scandalous is the absolution confusion and lack of consistency in message being delivered to the Chicago flock – and that lands squarely at the feet of His Eminence.
The Chicago Archdiocese does not want to alienate the small minority community that Pfleger serves, so they've looked the other way for some time. But the honors bestowed on him are indefensible in my opinion…

I'd also advise contacting Bp. Joseph Perry, who is Fr. Pfleger's vicar. Bishop Perry (I knew him when he was in Milwaukee) may deal with him directly.

If the cardinal hasn't taken a stand yet, why would he now? This can't be a surprise to anyone.

The Cardinal does St. Sabina's no favors to simply permit them to follow a charismatic heretic, endangering their souls and minds. Discipline of Fr. Pfleger is called for.
1. To admonish and correct a wayward shepherd, lest he endanger the flock;
2. To remind people that popularity is not sanctity; nor a shield against criticism;
3. To show that our first allegiance is to Christ and His Gospel;
4. To proclaim the Eternal Truth and call people to the Holy Spirit, not to zeitgeist.
And if a bunch of the parishioners decide to follow a man into schism, then they will at least have made their choice visible and plain. They will no longer be able to fool themselves; they will know where they have freely chosen to stand. The Church owes a heretic at least that much – clear knowledge, not a lie that all is well when one stands in peril.

Here is the Eucharistic Prayer he made up for Holy Thursday this year. I'm not sure, but he may have made this Mass invalid by changing the words of institution.

"His response was swift. The heretic priest was sent to a very, very remote location in Korea."
What good did that do? It just means the poor soldiers in that remote location have to endure his heresy. I was stationed in Korea long ago. It would have been misery to have been subjected to that. He should have been sent to remedial theology and not permitted to preach until he corrected his errors.

"His response was swift. The heretic priest was sent to a very, very remote location in Korea"
That would work ONLY if he didn't speak Korean and his parishioners didn't understand English.
