Watch this really fun video of reactions to the USA 91st minute goal to advance in the World Cup.
(Don’t tell anyone but I cheered just like this! Shhhh…)
Good luck today against Ghana!

I never tire of watching this. Truly amazing stuff for 90 minutes, made unforgettable with that epic finish.
Hope they can keep it going today.

Ok, not a big soccer fan. I thought your snarky piece on why America doesn't like soccer was hysterical. I just happened to be in the living room of our house while my husband was watching the game and I saw the US score this goal. I screamed and cheered like an absolute fanatic. I honestly don't think we can help it. Go USA!

Like Maurisa, I thought your post on why soccer is a bit drab was hilarious (except for the part where "they don't do religion"- GRRRR…) It's a snooze fest. But seeing these highlights ALL over the news has made my soccer hating/America loving heart swell with pride! Will I jump on the band wagon… hmmm.. we'll see.

Your USA just got its arse beat by Ghana – HA HA! Suck on that, Americans!

Hey there Anon…
Just took a deep breath and counted to ten before writing back.
See – there IS a lot for you to thank God for.
As for the vid…. Awesome. My reaction at home was similar to the guy who ran then slid down the stairs, only much less subdued. Frightened the wife, kids, and neighbors pets, too.
The Ghana loss was too bad, but it was a fun ride. The video gave me chills. I miss that America – where we all cheer together. Thanks for posting that, Patrick! Great stuff.

To Anon: How appropriate … not to be proud of your country's accomplishment, but to rejoice in America's defeat. Let's hope, shall we, that America may never be truly defeated (from enemies foreign or domestic). For then where will the world get another whipping boy that, despite the world's churlishness, will still, STILL come to its aid and defense.
