This Fast and Furious stuff is bad all around. But things may have just gotten real bad for the Attorney General.
You have probably heard about the WH data dump that seems to indicate that Holder knew about Fast and Furious a full year earlier than he told Congress under oath that he knew about the disastrous program.
But as it is with such things, the devil is in the detail, and often very hard to prove. That is the legal reality. The political reality is something altogether different. So when faced with the question of whether he lied to Congress, this is the answer Holder’s office gave.
Today, the Obama Justice Department claimed Eric Holder did not understand the question:
The Justice Department told CBS News… Holder misunderstood that question from the committee – he did know about Fast and Furious – just not the details.
Oh boy. If that is the best they come up with, Holder may be politically, if not legally, doomed.
Just in case you don’t know, having the highest law enforcement official in the land lie to Congress about a program as disastrous as Fast and Furious is a BIG DEAL. I have known for some time that SOMEONE is going down for F&F. Now we may know who. The question is whether it stops there.
Update: It gets worse. The WH and the DOJ have taken to screaming at reporters who think this is worthy of coverage.

God bless Cheryl Atkinson. And kudos to her bosses at CBS.
It was especially chilling to hear that the White House is upset because
Ms. Atkinson won't be 'reasonable'. The Washington Post is being
'reasonable', the LA Times is 'reasonable', the New York Times is being
'reasonable', but this lady just keeps asking simple questions of this
administration and getting stonewalled and screamed at for her
inconvenient questions. She gives me hope for the deplorable state
of journalism in this country. May her tribe increase.

Well, their first patsy– the whistleblower– it didn't stick, their second patsy had a competent lawyer instead of listening to the DOJ's goons and snuck in to secretly testify to congress, I seem to remember a third attempt to pin this on someone else, and now the hot potato is in Holder's hands….
Even if all it does is get rid of that racist psycho, I'll count it as good.

I must agree with Foxfier, "racist psycho no longer running the DOJ" is "glass half full" in my book, too.
