Wow… my jaw is on the ground, but honestly, it's no surprise.

She should have made the point that if they all gave all their money, it still wouldn't make the tiniest of dents.
These people obviously aren't very good at math….

There is nothing stopping them from sending in a contribution to the General Fund or the Public Debt. The addresses can be found in Internal Revenue documents very easy. I bet you will never see a dime, just some more phoniness.

This vdeo tells me nothing I need to know. Taxes are not meant to be voluntary. Nobody wants to pay taxes. But everyone wants fairness. Even the Holy See acknowledges the excesses of Wall Street and the oppressive policies of the ruling class (aka, the 1%)….even 65% of Republican voters believe the excessively wealthy should pay more.

Define excessively wealthy, anonymous.
Also, no modern state has a purely plutocratic ruling class, it's not 1840. They have a mixed plitocratic-technocratic one—experts, as well as rich people—and the experts are far and away worse.
Finally, please explain how, within a capitalist system (which is traditionally defined as "a system with an investor class"), raising taxes on the investor class is a good idea. No rational person can deny that investment being dependent on a minority is sub-optimal, but it's mere totemic fetishism to claim that penalizing that minority won't have bad effects.

Why don't YOU define what YOU think is excessively wealthy? You have a lovely economy of words but lack the intellectual capacity to use it. Members of congress have doubled their income in the past twenty five years while most Americans haven't kept up with the cost of living. Unlike you, I will not defend the wealthy and well-connected ruling class; but I will defend the poor and the unborn.

The richest people want to see a balanced budget in which their portfolios don't collapse (which would be a REAL loss, as opposed to a marginal tax increase on the portion of their wealth classed as "income" in any given year). I honestly don't know why the Republicans have dug in their heels on this. The highest marginal tax rate was MUCH higher during the golden economic era of the Clinton years. The wealth divide in this country is a problem.

@anonymous:
Insect, my attitude toward Congress is as follows: "May the streets run slick with their unclean blood."
But that has nothing to do with their wealth, and everything to do with the abuse of their state power—which is always the remedy suggested by class-war fellow-travelers who spew doggerel about "the 1%".
Have whoever's reading you this talk slow: there cannot not be a top 1%, not unless everyone has zero.
More to the point, Congress does very little investing—they are a state expert-class that happens to be rich, not members of the economic investor-class, and thus they have no bearing on the broader questions about tax policy as it relates to investment and the economy.
This is science, it's called economics. Before you can "defend the poor and unborn", maybe you should actually know what's a threat to them, and what advances their good. You evidently will not, since you repeat the rhetoric of the true ruling class, the expert technocracy, the very theorists responsible for abortion being legal in the first place. All the good intentions in the world won't help if you don't even know not to eat from the bottles with skulls on them.
PS. @Siobhan, you mean the golden economic era of the Gingrich years. The economy did not take off until the Republicans took back Congress.

This donate video is the guilt trip from hell. When Obama begins to seize private property through Rural Councils, Executive Order 13575 to augment the size of his coffers, who will complain without being told that everyone has had a chance to donate to prevent such a communist takeover?

These top-1%, as they've self identified, prove a few interesting points:
1) They are collectivists. They won't give unless everybody is forced into the same sinking lifeboat. What political system is reliant on forced collectivism?
2) They are all arrogant. They are sooooo condescending to the little lass with her ridiculous game. Why, she's too stoooopid to understand how terrific they are. This makes me wonder if they are really into more government for a philanthropic end or could there be something in it for them?
3) The whole thing is nothing but a smoke screen for more government, which these folks will obviously pulling the strings of. This wasn't about the rich wanting to pay THEIR fair share.
4) Apparently spending more than $3,000,000,000,000 a year isn't a problem? That's the federal part of it. State and local spending is out of control, too. These guys must agree that there's little waste in the government, so why not pay more?
And for anonymous, when Christians cede charity to the state, what purpose are they left with? How is charity charitable when taken by threat of force? How is class warfare and resentment in line with Christian virtue?

The fact is that taxation is theft, looting under threat of jail or death. If done by an individual it is punishable, when done by the ruling class it is considered righteous. That is state worship, putting state agents above the law of God. If government is righteous it rules by consent of the governed, no one consents to be looted or jailed. These rich people know that there will always be loopholes and offshore havens for them to hide their wealth. They really mean for those little people, non-rich paying taxes to pay more, and that is about 40% of the country at this point. If they really are wanting to pay more no one is stopping them from divesting themselves of their filthy lucre and giving it to "the poor". THAT would be the Christian thing to do, instead of calling for already overtaxed people to be looted even more. But, curiously, they don't do that. Wonder why?

Sophia's Favorite insect,
It is evident that you are a partisan hack that refuses take off your partisan blinders. Just today, FOX news and all the other networks today are reporting the huge income disparity between congress (doubled during these past 25 years ) and the people their constituents (stagnant). It is not just when our representatives represent their own interest by creating policies that cater to the wealthy and unpatriotic 1% (what percentage of the 99%ruling have died in military service and what percent of the 1%ruling have died for our country while serving in the military?). The 99%night not only have sacrificed income growth to benefit the 1%, but they also sacrificed their own lives and blood of their sons and daughters who serve this country in the military. Stop defending greedy bastards who fund corrupt politicians who create policies that make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

The target is not the rich but the middle classes. Too many people have just enough to make it a little difficult for for the few to wield absolute power. I would take a guess that the middle class are the real target see time 2:16.

The "Queen of Mean" Leona Helmsley said: "Taxes are for little people to pay" for which she went to jail, not for tax evasion as the docket read, but for spilling the beans about the workings of our communist government.

Let us return to representative government. Let the will of the people be voiced in the laws CONGRESS makes, not Obama, not Obamacare, not Rural Councils, not the Supreme Court, not prayer ban, not Roe v. Wade, not pornography as free speech, not prositition as freedom, but the will of the governed, that government is constituted to protect and provide for virginity, innocence and prosperity, two thirds of the states ratifying any changes to our government. Let the will of the people be the ruling class. Let the voice of the people be heard in the hallowed halls of government. This is all nonsense. When the Revolutionary War was over, Gen George Washington, then as president had a bankrupt nation. A wheelbarrow of U.S. currency could not buy one a loaf of bread. Washington took the responsibility for the nation without taxation and returned America to prosperity. Now, If Washington could do it then, Washington can do it now.
