Unless you conform, unless you are loyal to the party, then you are not fit for work. After all, consensus is your queue to stop thinking for yourself. Anything else is frowned upon.
Concerned that too many “deniers” are in the meteorology business, global warming activists this month launched a campaign to recruit local weathermen to hop aboard the alarmism bandwagon and expose those who are not fully convinced that the world is facing man-made doom.
The Forecast the Facts campaign — led by 350.org, the League of Conservation Voters and the Citizen Engagement Lab — is pushing for more of a focus on global warming in weather forecasts, and is highlighting the many meteorologists who do not share their beliefs.
“Our goal is nothing short of changing how the entire profession of meteorology tackles the issue of climate change,” the group explains on their website. “We’ll empower everyday people to make sure meteorologists understand that their viewers are counting on them to get this story right, and that those who continue to shirk their professional responsibility will be held accountable.”
Unlike the weather, weathermen must be predictable.
Looks like real weathermen will need to go underground.

"Unless you conform, unless you are loyal to the party,…."
Interesting. This about perfectly matches the attitude of the Republican party as they continue to ram one establishment neocon after another down the throats of Republican voters each presidential election and command obedience to support those candidates. They're doing this same routine again this year by shoving Romney down the throats of Republicans. More pathetically, this practice always works for the establishment, because the vast majority of Republican voters always obey and support these status-quo candidates, just like they will again this year with Romney. The Republican establishment is absolutely commanding the voters to conform, and those voters are unfortunately giving them exactly what they want as always.

Way to hijack a thread, anonymous. Silly me, I thought this was
about political correctness being forced upon weathermen.

What a useless profession… they'll love their new pseudo-relevance as they add some good old fashioned scoldy moralizing about our carbon footprints to their useless banter.

"What a useless profession"
Well, before you say that, check out this link:

Now consider the fact that a number of the "climate change deniers" this group wants to blacklist are among those very meteorologists who make truly heroic efforts to keep the public informed during dangerous severe weather situations.
Then again, these same meteorologists live in areas that, according to some of the extreme lefty bloggers at sites like Think Progress, "deserve" to get hit because they are populated by ignorant Bible thumpers who allow themselves to be represented (governmentally) by "climate change deniers." So I guess we shouldn't be too surprised.
