While I sorta support the ends, the means are totally unjustifiable.
President Obama, completely bypassing Congress, will grant amnesty and work permits to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.
This election year power grab is an affront to the Constitution. This cannot be allowed to stand.

There seems to be a resolution to this strange loggerhead. Let the families who will, adopt the Mexican families and their children. I have a Guatemalan young man who is supported by my contributions and hoping for a good education. Even when the children are returned to Mexico, they can be supported by their adoptive families. Steve "scotju" Dalton: I agree with you. The illegals contempt for Americans and our laws is only outdone by Obama and his HHS mandate.

Several discete issues are being confused or conflated. There is the validity of a particular positive law by virtue of its conformity to natural and constitutional justice (if a law is not in conformity with natural justice it cannot be in conformity with constitutional justice as the Constitution of the USA is a Natural Law instrument based on a Natural Law philosophy); and there is the branch of government that determines validity – in a State with the Rule of Law and separation of Powers, the Judiciary. Objective and immutable principles apply in support of unchanging human nature and human dignity.

Philosophically, I'm on your side, Mary and Steve. But, no, irregardless is not proper usage. In some places, it has crept into dictionaries because it's been widely (if incorrectly) used. However, even dictionary.com lists it as 'nonstandard.'
'Regardless' is the proper word.
Sorry!

1) The President does not have the authority to do this. It is an outrage.
2) Even if he could do it, it's stupid. Any sort of amnesty program means absolutely nothing without controlling the borders. The two need to be done simultaneously. Anything else is a joke.
3) People who think we should send all illegal immigrants "home" are living in a dreamland. There is no way to deport millions of people.
4) People who think we should grant amnesty to all people here now are living in a dreamland. It would be a slap in the face to all the people who have followed the law, and all the people who are waiting RIGHT NOW to immigrate, doing everything correctly and having to wait years.
5) Real immigration reform would be hard work and some people would be hurt. But it's what we need to do. Can we please, please, please elect some grownups who will work on our problems and actually fix them?
6) Did I mention the President cannot do this?
7) Why people currently up to age 30?
8) Why people brought here illegally up to age 16 and not, say, age FIVE?
9) Again… the President has no authority to do this. He seems to think he is a king and can do whatever he wants to do. He isn't, and he can't.

Next year's public school enrollment will be almost double; and won't many of those students look a little old?

Grant the children work permits after their illegal parents are sent back to whatever country they came from.
If the parents do not exit the country, no work permit.
One stone, two birds.

CCC #2241
The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.
Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.
Sure doesn't sound like, “Gimme, gimme, gimme. I don't owe anything.” Sounds more like authentic social justice: the good for society. And not just a select group in society; everyone working together.

Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, gave citizenship to 2 million illegal immigrants in Venezuela to secure votes, and with Jimmy Carter's help, won.
Last year,Didn't pres. Obama say he could not break the current deportation laws ?
I thought he said he didn't have the "authority".

There are 20 million illegal immigrants in the U.S..
There are 50 million Americans receiving Food Stamps.
God knows how many millions are unemployed U.S. citizens.
Why is the President singling out only youth under the age of 30 ?
