Watching this gave me a real thrill because what General Robert H. Barrow, 27th Commandant of the Marine Corps, testified to before the SASC on Women in Combat in June 1991 nobody would say anymore. And then I became terribly sad because I understood that nobody would say this anymore. General Barrow died in 2008.
Watch the entire thing. I know it’s a vid and normally we’ll watch about 90 seconds of video before checking out something else. But this is worth it. Amazingly worth it.

Women in combat? No, girls in combat; an 18-year-old girl is a girl. Dear Leader and his odious clique see our children as resources to be disposed of in their endless domestic and foreign schemes. Dear Leader or his successor will impose once again the un-American concept of conscription, which legitimizes the idea of young people as the property of the state.

We haven't had Flag Officers like him in over a decade when the last warriors from Vietnam retired. Oh, sure there are a few throwbacks like Mattis but guys like this are simply gone.
I mourn the loss of a proud military that I was eager to join as a young man that was a shell of itself when I retired from Active Duty.
Sad. So sad.
