I don’t want to restart the Catholic torture debates, but it all comes down to how you define torture.

Well when they start defining it this way, every good Catholic needs to be FOR torture.

Wesley Smith reports that the U.N. wants to define pro-life laws as torture. Yes. NOT killing babies is torture.

[The report] brands with that extreme term not only medical actions and omissions that clearly are not torture as most people understand it, but also national policies disfavored by the international ruling class. Thus, “The Committee against Torture has repeatedly expressed concerns about restrictions on access to abortion and about absolute abortion bans as violating the prohibition on torture and ill treatment.” Unstated (but implied) is that pro-life countries like Ireland are committing crimes against humanity.

Progressives cannot stomach real debate, so they try to define any disagreement as a violation of human rights. They have been using this method with regard to ‘gay rights’ for years. If you think marriage is one thing and not another, you are against human rights. So now if you think that unborn babies have rights and need and deserve protection, you are a torturer.

I suppose it should come as no surprise that those who actively promote unspeakable evil will redefine the language to make good evil.

That said, redefining the protection of innocent human life as torture seems outrageous even for them.

So be it. I will stand against human rights until every baby is safe.
