Whoa. Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade, co-host of the morning Fox and Friends, went full on hater on Pope Francis. Dude’s a Catholic from what I understand too. (Talking about Kilmeade there, not the pope. Obviously the pope’s Catholic.) Kilmeade doesn’t like the pope’s politics, I guess. Haven’t watched Fox and Friends in years- just too dopey for me. Not that I’m Mr. Smarty Pants but…maybe silly is a better word. Fox and Friends is just silly. But from what I remember Kilmeade always seemed like a decent guy who would probably be a lot of fun to hang out with on the sideline of a kid’s soccer game. Not in this bit though.
On Fox News radio the other day, Kilmeade said things like:
“I’m Catholic and he could stay home. Some of his comments just have no place — he’s in the wrong country.”
“He doesn’t like capitalism.”
“Tired of the pope.”
I think when people see the pope as a political figure rather than a religious one, it creates confusion. Look, the pope has made plenty of comments that have left me scratching my head and checking Google translate (which stinks). But Kilmeade, whoa. Down boy.
You can listen for yourself if you’re into that sorta’ thing:
Update: Heh. Had the wrong vid for a minute. And I called Fox and Friends dopey. They probably at least know how to embed a video. Anyway, it’s right now.
