Some wack doctor from California who teaches at UCSF is proposing a floating abortion clinic in the Gulf of Mexico so that women in southern states where abortion may be restricted can still procure abortions for a price.
It would be a pirate ship/abortion clinic in federal waters, and therefore out of reach of state laws, according to Dr. Meg Autry. (OK. She didn’t say the pirate part. That was me.)
“There’s been an assault on reproductive rights in our country and I’m a lifelong advocate for reproductive health and choice. We have to create options and be thoughtful and creative to help people in restrictive states get the health care they deserve,” she told The Associated Press.
So, in short, Dr. Autry (pictured below) wants to create a death ship.
Seems like a brilliant idea…in the place where more hurricanes happen than anyplace else.
Since they’re all about protecting women I’m sure they’ve thought about what happens if mothers are hurt. What’s the plan when some poor woman has her uterus or bowel perforated and they’re stuck 20 miles out to sea? What’s the plan then, Dr? Where’s the access to emergency care then? But please keep telling me you’re all about women?
And say, I wonder if all those pesky rules and regulations about selling baby body parts apply in international waters? I’m betting that’ll be a nice revenue stream for these pirates.
But please tell me again how it’s all about the women.
