Before we dive into this story, please take a guess what department this stinker prof was in. Come on. Which department always goes leftie first?
She was a psychology professor. Of freaking course. The “soft” sciences always go first. You know why? Because they stopped being science at all years ago. Were they ever?
So the obviously disturbing news is that The Catholic University of America hired professor Melissa Goldberg to teach psych on their campus. But hey, mistakes happen. The good news is that CUA fired her and apologized.
Catholic World Report: The Catholic University of America has dismissed one of its professors for bringing an abortion advocate to class to speak to students.
A Tuesday email from the school’s president, Peter Kilpatrick, obtained by CNA said that the school began an investigation last week after learning of reports of an abortion advocate being invited to a class. The president said the school also learned that a student had an audio recording of the class in question.
The Daily Signal, which obtained and released a copy of the recording last week, identified the psychology professor as Melissa Goldberg.
“Now that we have clear evidence that the content of the class did not align with our mission and identity, we have now terminated our contract with the professor who invited the speaker,” Kilpatrick wrote on Tuesday.
Goldberg’s faculty page was no longer available on the university website as of Tuesday afternoon.
“As a Catholic institution, we are committed to promoting the full truth of the human person and to protecting human life from conception to natural death. In our rigorous pursuit of truth and justice, we engage at times with arguments or ideologies contrary to reason or to the Gospel,” he wrote.
Here’s the way I see it. The saying is that if a Catholic college is not getting more Catholic it’s getting less Catholic. Well today, CUA got more Catholic.
This is a good news story. We need some of those.
Now, CUA should be talking to the person who hired Melissa Goldberg. Let’s keep this thing going.

THe only means by which a Catholic institution at any level should permit the topic of abortion to be discussed is if it is to reveal the horror and the contrast to Truth and the human person. Not to advocate for. Yes, we need to discuss satan to reveal his lies and know how to deal with it. But no point in speaking of satan from his perspective – we get enough of that in our secular culture.

“Now, CUA should be talking to the person who hired Melissa Goldberg.”
Excellent point, this is a crucial step. Personnel is policy.

I’m so happy to hear of a Catholic Institution finally standing up for the faith instead of capitulating to secular society while the bishop is looking the other way. Now how about all the other Catholic institutions that need reprimanding for straying from the faith? Will it happen?

my fake Catholic School Depaul would have promoted her.
