Fr. Barron is blessed with an optimism and enthusiasm that is infectious, but in this case, I think he overestimates the O. This is not a man who has struggled with abortion, but one who recognizes that abortion is the same as slavery and has chosen at every opportunity to side with the abortionists.
Full knowledge, clear will, grave subject matter, does it anyway. That seems to fit a particular definition Catholics should be familiar with.
That the president has full knowledge and acts in support of evil anyway is a source of shame not hope.
I agree with RobK on this one. Just look at this video where he smugly ridicules and summarily dismisses the efforts of pro-lifers into a 90s culture war position and how he vows to take the offensive to put all that behind.
Was he just grandstanding to PP? I doubt it; because, if he had any qualms, he wouldn't have gone in such a mad rush to undo all the pro-life legislation that are in place.
He seems very calculated in telling everyone what they want to hear. Much as I want to believe in him, his actions has proven that he does not deserve that trust.
The two-faced approach Obama produces in his writing reminds me of one of the problems Europeans faced in the 1800s.
Kierkegaard and Nietzsche both pointed out that many in Europe were trying to claim Christian morals without adhering to the religion. The former encouraged a return to Christianity, and the latter wanted Europe to admit its atheism.
It should be clear from Obama’s actions which side he falls on (in his own words, “there are no absolutes”) but he will not admit (to himself, at least) what he really thinks. We should not be surprised that evil arises from such deception.
I pray for the President’s conversion, but also that regardless of what he believes, he admits it to himself and others in a truthful manner.
Pro-abortion politicians who claim to be Christian are wolves in dressed up as sheep. America is committing suicide and the rest of the Western civilisation is following on its heels.
Although I trust in God, I have this feeling in my bones that a catastrophic war is about to come over the earth, and it will be linked to the moral decline and collapse of Western civilisation. Perhaps it will be the blood of the HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of INNOCENT CHILDREN crying out from the womb pleading for this GENOCIDE to stop that will cause God to permit a chastisement that our civilisation deserves for allowing such genocide to occur.

If he did say that “there are no absolutes”, then it follows that his very statement is also “not absolute”.
