President Obama says “We are God’s partners in matters of life and death.”
God’s partner? What?!
All I can think to ask is who demoted Obama and forced him to take on a partner on matters of life and death? Who does this “God” think He is to assume equal status with The One? What election did He win?
For years, Obama has assumed a singular autonomy on all issues relating to life and death. Obama, as Gateway Pundit points out, “This comes from the same guy who voted 4 times to kill live babies.”
Obama even shared with the country his willingness to destroy his own grandchildren by saying, “Look, I’ve got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”
And for years, Obama hasn’t even needed God in order to define sin because Obama defined sin as “Being out of alignment with my values.”
Does this sound like someone who needs a partner? But according to the Politico:
A reader points out that President Obama’s call with the rabbis today — as recorded in Rabbi Jack Moline’s and other clerics’ Twitter feeds — freights health care reform with a great deal of religious meaning, and veers into the blend of policy and faith that outraged liberals in the last administration.
“We are God’s partners in matters of life and death,” Obama said, according to Moline (paging Sarah Palin…), quoting from the Rosh Hashanah prayer that says that in the holiday period, it is decided “who shall live and who shall die.”
The president ended the call by wishing the rabbis “shanah tovah,” or happy new year — in reference to the High Holidays a month from now.
Well, the reason for the new “partnership” is clear. Obama’s selling something. And he’s coming up short by himself so he’s going to raise the name of his silent partner God until he convinces enough people that God wants ObamaCare to pass.
It’s funny that after all these years of acting alone, when Obama does allow God into the conversation it’s to say God agrees with him. So we should all do what they say, I guess.
Update: RS McCain asks: God endorses ObamaCare?

I'm probably stating the obvious, but it is really not much use to try to follow the pseudo-theological ramblings of Obama. He is probably merely uttering vaguely pious-sounding syllables, without the least notion of what they might mean.
A person like that does not have even a basic theological alphabet, and just says whatever sounds convenient at the time.
Let's not waste time trying to understand what is merely white noise. Good job CMR for the analysis, but you give the president too much honour.
Of course, I am not saying it's not important – a lunatic with that much power talking utter gibberish is very dangerous.

Well, this statement at least puts to rest any doubt that Obama is a Muslim. Associating "partners" with God/Allah is the number 1 no-no for the infidel (it's a dig at Christians, who they claim associates Jesus as a partner to God via the trinity). Personally, I believe Christopher Hitchens' assessment that Obama is for all intents and purposes and atheist who picked the most asacramental and undogmatic church to join so he would not be tied down with anything to obstruct his own sense of morality while still being "church-going".

Demoted from being a god to a partner of god.
He's a politician, not a believer. He got me going with the "reduce the need for abortions" line for awhile then his actions spoke much louder. If it talks like a duck and walks like one…
(Hey Matt, you may want to delete that ad for "escorts" that sneaked in.)

Let's backtrack here for a second, guys —
TWITTER FEEDS for information? Nothing against the good rabbis, but that's ridiculous.
As for what he actually said.. there are so many things wrong with that guy I can't even begin.

"The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision" (Ps 2:1-4).

Obama's thoughts aren't really any different than those who sport around town with "God is my co-pilot" bumper stickers.

To me, the point isn't that Obama made a comment about being in a partnership with God, but that Obama believes that he is actually in a partnership with God while Obama's policies are clearly against what most of the world's religions say is correct. I don't mind peoples' "Jesus is my homeboy" t-shirts or that bumper sticker, silly sounding as they are. I mind when people use their faith to try to gain power. Even Saint Paul said that he was nothing except a way to help people know Christ, which is quite different than "Because I know God, I'm right", which is the arrogent, terrifying approach Obama is taking. Shame on him.

Wait…I thought matters of when life began were above his pay grade.

Ah, Sherry, but you forget the semantics of the debate. Barack Obama (before being President) said that those matters of when life begins are above his pay-grade. Since he's been promoted to President, he's now within the "pay-grade" to make those decisions for us and for God too.

But which one is the SENIOR partner?

We partner with God when we become people He can guide and use to fulfill His purposes here on earth.

It hardly needs to be said that when a Republican talks this way, the Left goes gonzo.

Anonymous, that statement has nothing to do with what Christians believe.
As for partnering with God… what a strange thing to say.

Wait a minute … just over a year ago, he was saying that matters of life and death were above his paygrade. Now he's a "partner" with God in making those calls?
I guess that's the difference between being Senator "The One" and being President "The One".
