And then they went out to the pub and knocked back several rounds of Jägermeister, upon which European unity was restored. And that, children, concludes story time for today…
Van Rompuy is a shrewd operator. In an article cited by Paul Belien of the Brussels Journal, and cited in Catholic Insight, is this and similar tidbits re Van Rompuy's background:
"In April 1990, the King did in fact abdicate over the abortion issue, and the Christian-Democrat Party, led by Herman Van Rompuy, who had always prided himself on being a good Catholic, had one of Europe’s most liberal abortion bills signed by the college of ministers, a procedure provided by the Belgian Constitution for situations when there is no King. Then they had the King voted back on the throne the following day."
If Belien's article is accurate, it would appear that Van Rumpoy was once a conservative Catholic who has traded away his convictions for political power. Though MP Farage may have been uncivil, his critique rightly calls for a closer inspection of this unelected president of Europe.
Thinks are so utterly horrid in the EU and Obama is being so abominable to England one despairs. Watch the nonsense going on in Spain over abortion – nice when the country is depopulating do you vote to legalize abortion? Pray!
Well said!! But perhaps ALL politicians should be put out to pasture. Seems all they do is protect the abortion industry and the homosexual. Which causes one to ask– where are they going to get more supporters for their party? Oh well, as European countries continue to allow abortion we get closer the the great day of reckoning. May God have mercy on the world.
"Which causes one to ask– where are they going to get more supporters for their party?"
Unfortunately, we too quickly forget that these same people love embryonic stem cell research and in vitro fertilization. No need to actually engage in heterosexual intercourse to produce life any more.
Can you imagine how differently the health care summit would have gone yesterday if US congressmen were trained in the ways of British parliamentary politics and rhetoric?
It would make for awesome television, that's for sure!
I don't particularly like Farrage but he is, of course, correct that Van Rumpoy is unknown to most people and, more importantly, unelected.
Europe is governed by an appointed elite of nutcase socialists whose main interest is destroying every element of individuality in the people of Europe.

A Faustian pact?
