I am also wary of the changes, but remember, a trailer is a highly selective view of a film – we get pieces but not the whole view. It's the palantir view – Sauron's edited highlights of reality led Denethor to despair. Within the context of the film, it may work (who knows- it could be flashback, fantasy-temptation, nightmare, etc.). I actually liked some of the changes they made to Caspian so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. 🙂
Gonna miss this one. Saw the first one, and was very sad to see that Lewis' Mohammedan characters looked and acted surprisingly like French crusaders after they went through the Hollywood whitewashing.
Looking forward to this. I don't expect it to be faithful to the book. _Prince Caspian_ made some obvious deviations from it, but I still enjoyed the movie, as I enjoyed the first. I didn't really expect the LOTR movies to be exactly like the books, either, but I still enjoyed them.
I'll probably have to wait til I can check it out at the library, though. Watching movies at the theater has become, for us, a luxury belonging to the past. Maybe one of these days my husband and I will make a date of it–for a movie we both really want to see–but, for now, the library loan is free, and the kids will probably enjoy this as much as I will. We're on our fourth viewing of _Up_ (from the library) this week.

I'm overjoyed that they produced this, as Voyage of the Dawn Treader was always my favorite book in the series! Hope they do all six. 🙂
