Cardinal Burke, the Vatican Chief Justice has practically put on notice the prelates here who support Democrats right before the election. In a recent speech, he slams the bishops who presided over funeral Masses of those who are seperated from the Church ( O'Malley ) and those who continue to allow pro-abort pols to receive Communion. ( Wuerl ) Pardon the plug, but here's the video http://divine-ripples.blogspot.com/2010/10/video-vatican-puts-card-omalley-abp.html

Wuerl? The squish who defends Nancy Pelosi's right to communion ("I have yet to see where the canonical approach has changed anyone's heart")?
The Vatican knows very well who this man is. WHAT IS THE DEAL? Could someone tell me how this man is chosen from so many for a distinction? It is sickeningly corrupt.
It's like a split-personality case chooses Cardinals. Or some drinking game.

Sure, he can choose the next two popes, OR be chosen as pope! Wouldn't that be great!

Choose the next pope? How about BE the next pope? I trust the wisdom of the Spirit, but I can still pray for it! đŸ™‚

Wuerl has the archdiocese of Washington D.C. – Burke is in Rome. Who will have more impact on the American Catholic scene? Burke's appointment is a sop to conservatives.
October 21, 2010 at 1:15 pm
Wuerl blew it on Pelosi imho, but he staunchly defends traditional marriage in the face of DC's attempt to ratify fake marriages, so even if we grant Burke as a sop to conservatives, Wuerl isn't exactly a sop to liberals. Anyone got an analysis of the non-American appointments?

Happy to hear of Burke's appointment to cardinal!! Very happy because he really speaks up for the Faith and makes Catholic teaching clear.
Wuerl–not too sure about him.

@Anonymous312: Card. Burke is the Apostolic Signatura (translation: Chief Justice of the Vatican. That's a big smacking deal in the Church Admin.) He practically kicked Wuerl cowardly ars during that speech for weaseling out or passing the buck and not disciplining Pelosi, Sebellius, Biden, Mikulsi et. al. sell out pro-abort pinko Commie Catholic pols. Bottom line: Card. Burke outranks the politician Wuerl. I hope Wuerl goes up and out of DC; we need Abp. Chaput here to defend the unborn, respect their Creator and stand against the tools of the devil.

Did anyone notice that Archbishop Dolan from NYC was not on the list? It is usually a feta comple when assigned to New York that you will get a red hat on the next round.
Cooke waited 13 months.
Eagan waited 9 months.
O'Connor waited 16 months.
It has been 18 months for Dolan already. Maybe the NY Times has a vote.
