This is what it comes down to. The great pro-life battle of our generation. De-funding Planned Parenthood.
And the President is taking sides with evil.
[Life News] President Barack Obama would veto the House-approved long-term spending bill for the federal government that contains the Pence Amendment, a measure that would de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Because of that provision and other pro-life riders that stop abortion funding globally and in the District of Columbia, the Washington Times indicates “Obama has issued a veto threat on that bill, saying House Republicans’ cuts are unacceptable.”
“Senate Democrats said the non-spending provisions of the bill — such as restrictions on Planned Parenthood and on Obama administration rules and regulations — will also have to be struck,” the Times continues.

Poor man. He must have sold his soul to Planned Parenthood and the devil.

How embarrassing that he would stick up for an organization that has its roots in racism and eugenics as espoused by its founder, Margaret Sanger, and aborts five black babies for every white baby. Furthermore in light of what attorney general Eric Holder recently said was done to "my people" when they were regarded as three-fifths human during the days of slavery, you'd think he'd have more empathy for the humanity of the unborn.

It is the one thing on which he does not dither.

I cannot wait! Absolutely cannot wait to see how the catholics that want to vote for 0bama in 2012 are going to spin his abortion record this time. The blogs will be on fire, it will be a popcorn show for sure.

I do hope he vetos it. Then none of it gets funded.
It pretty simple, he accepts what they pay for or he gets nothing.

Has anyone bothered to contact Ambassador Kmiec or Notre Dame to see what they think about the man they said would reduce abortions in America?
March 6, 2011 at 11:04 pm
Agreed with Anonymous. It'll be interesting to explain at election time, "If Planned Parent doesn't get paid, no-one will be".

OMG to Anonmyous and anilwang!
That is the stupidest thing I think I've heard anyone ever say! A veto on a funding bill doesn't mean no funding, it means they have to start over, there still has to be a budget, and there will still be one, it just might not be the one proposed!

Hey Obama-is-really-pro-life idiots from the 2008 election, have you caught on yet?
March 7, 2011 at 2:25 am
Wrong again, from a Christian. Planned Parenthood is not "evil". Get a clue.
March 7, 2011 at 3:20 am
Evil is a strong word that I really don't like using in the context of people or institutions as a whole. Even Satan, the epitome of evil is created good, and has good in him. Just the same, there are ideas, acts, philosophies, and motives that really are "evil". The founding and operations of Planned Parenthood are full of those. It is true that the founder of Planned Parenthood was a staunch believer in the same genocidal ideas and philosophies as Hitler. The major functions of Planned Parenthood (not the only functions, as they do some good things, limited though they may be, but the major functions) are evil acts.
As for Obama, yes he is very pro-abortion. He himself makes that abundantly clear. Voting for him does support abortion. I am no fan of Obama, but I do think his intentions have been greatly twisted by the speculation of the media in this case. The defunding of Planned Parenthood is a landmark decision, one that sends a clear message. The reactions from the public sends an even clearer message. Vetoing this budget proposal will not reverse that and Obama knows it. He is not going to do something that can endanger his reelection for a lost cause. Additionally, the budget proposal deviates very far from the plans he and his cabinet have put in place across the board. Would he veto something just to keep Planned Parenthood funded if it would be successful? Quite possibly. Is that the likely reason he is vetoing this? Not likely. Is he very pro-abortion either way? Most definitely.

"taking sides with evil" …he epitomizes it!
March 7, 2011 at 4:03 am
Wow, aren't we the Eternal judge all of a sudden!
March 7, 2011 at 12:56 pm
Concerned American, Please read your Constitution. If he vetos every funding bill, no funding.
March 7, 2011 at 9:47 pm
Let him veto. One more nail in his political coffin. Once he is voted out in 2012 and the Senate is taken out of liberal/progressive hands, the baby killers can forget about federal money, the leftist propagandists at NPR and CPB can forget about federal money, and so on.
March 7, 2011 at 11:22 pm
The states have never delegated to Congress and the Oval Office via the Constitution the specific power to tax and spend for programs like Planned Parenthood anyway.
March 7, 2011 at 11:37 pm
It does not take a judge to know PP is evil. It takes a brainwashed or willfully blind person to pontificate otherwise. Billions of abortions served up happily. As for Obama, he thinks he is helping his black community up to the same level of sophistication as White America. Lots of consequence-free sex for all!
March 8, 2011 at 2:45 pm
It is so sad to see this name calling. Voting for choice us a vote for religious freedom, which is the basis of America. There are millions of people starving android from treatable illnesses around the world. Please read or watch Freakonomics and the BBC show "the most difficult place to be a bus driver" to be reminded of the devestating effects of endless children being born into poverty.
I myself had an abortion after being physically held down by a gang member – yes, rape. And it's appalling how my situation is discussed and judged by people who are "pro-life". What a crazy, mis-used term!!
Please be empathetic. Vote prochoice. Fund accessible abortion (planned parenthood) and live your own life.
And yes, I'm anonymous becasue I'm afraid of you all.
March 8, 2011 at 9:15 pm
Defund Planned Parenthood. Even if you are not particularly Pro-Life, the millions in Federal money that is spent on a organization that promotes Abortion could be used to reduce the deficit.
That should be a goal we should all agree on.
March 8, 2011 at 11:56 pm
Only 3% of its activities have anything to do w/ abortion.
This isn't about abortion, it's about government control over the bodies of women.
A government strong enough to monitor every pregnancy to completion is not 'conservative' or 'small,' it is a theocracy, like in Iran.
