This is pretty amazing. It’s so good that I don’t even want to put it into a political perspective because with Santorum I kinda’ feel like he’s the real thing. A real family man who puts family first.

I would see Karen Santorum and her children at daily mass when I lived in their town in VA. They walk the walk. I see Rick Santorum as a modern day Atticus Finch. May God bless their family and their mission and give them courage and strength.

It's a shame he doesn't have a chance because he is what a Catholic politician should be!

This brought tears to my eyes. It just galls me when some people determine that a life has no value. God wanted this soul and many others in the world who have been aborted. He works miracles in the lives and hearts of people who practice true sacrificial love.

Santorum is the best. I know, he does not have chance because………….but, why not "hope and change" with us too?

He's not kinda the real thing. He IS the real thing. And you know what? If the Catholics in this country would stop saying he doesn't have a chance of being elected and actually vote for him, he'd be unbeatable.

Powerful. Very powerful.

Rick Santorum has my vote

He has no chance and is not a serious candidate. He also seems to be roundly despised by many a republican in his home state. His run is a waste of money.

Let the other hare's fall out, Santorum is the tortoise because he knows what it'll take and he's willing to wait and then fight. I'd like to know why so many think he can't win. What doesn't he have? What makes him so "unwinnable".

So your appeal to us is that it is wasteful? That it is a waste of money to spend monies that by law can only be spent on a campaign… on the campaign?
Most of the candidates dont have much of a chance, but that does not mean it is in vain. If anything, this is a great learning experience for Santorum. Just as Romney learned from his failed campaign 4 years ago.

What makes his campaign "unwinnable" is the character of the American people. The country stupid enough to vote for Obama would never be smart enough to vote for Santorum. Realpolitik is called for when herding sheep, unfortunately. Santorum is the perfect that is the enemy of the good. That is just the nature of politics.
He really must be running because he thinks he has a calling from God. With that beautiful family I wouldn't Waste one minute away and enduring the foul abuse this country has heaped upon him by the boatload. I hope, at least, his pro-life messages lodge in the minds of receptive people. That would be something.

I hope he keeps running for the simple fact that he has a voice. A clear reasoned voice that cannot be bought. God bless him and his family, protect them, and give him opportunities to tell the truth. Hearts can be changed if Catholics act and speak like Catholics. The Apostate Justin gave into the Christians because of their "constancy and consistency". We too can change the world, society and the Church by being faithful to our calling.

I really want to vote for Santorum, but the FACT is during the Republican primary for Senate in Pennsylvania he supported the "party" guy and pro-abortion Arlen Spector over Pro-life "outsider" Pat Tommey.
Like many Pa pro-life conservatives, we felt and were betrayed. He has never retracted that, as much as I want to I just can't trust him.

A lot of people havent' forgotten the Arlen Specter debacle. He may be a nice man but he has no chance of getting the nomination.
October 31, 2011 at 2:55 pm
Anonymous, 9:57 and 10:06, I was under the impression that he had, in fact, come out and said that he made a mistake and backing Spector and that Spector turned out not to be the man Santorum thought he would be. Now you can make the case that he should have know and almost everyone else knew, but I do recall hearing somewhere that he took responsibility for that decision and acknowledged that he was wrong. I'd have to do some research that I don't have time for now, to find that quote, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

My son and I met Sen. Santorum this morning in a small town cafe in small town Iowa. There were four of us sitting at the table. Never once did I get the impression that he was disappointed, or felt we were a waste of his time. Before he got up to leave, I asked him a pointed question, "As a faithful Catholic, why is there a disconnect with other faithful Catholics?" He replied, "You will have to ask them." I brought up Arlen Specter, and he talked about it, about why he did what he did. After Sen. Santorum left,I talked with a man who told me Specter also hurt him in the Evangelical community.
I believe it is time to forgive Sen. Santorum for Arlen Specter. Take a close look at the other Republican candidates. Is there any other candidate who will take a stronger stand on abortion, traditional marriage, religious freedom, than he will? Shall we punish him yet for Arlen Specter, and by doing so, punish ourselves?
The man I spoke with also said he has been working with political candidates for 20 years, and he has never been as impressed than he is with Sen. Santorum, "he's the real deal," he said. He has my vote.
