Casey Anthony, the mom who pretty much everyone in the country except the 12 people who sat on her jury believe she killed her kid, wants to get baptized.
Why?
So she can see her kid in heaven.
The Examiner reports:
In the latest news on Casey Anthony, the “Tot Mom” is getting baptized to ensure her salvation and to see her daughter Caylee in heaven one day. In a twist of irony, the 26-year-old reportedly alerted the media of her intentions. Recall she is serving time in an undisclosed location in Florida on check fraud after being exonerated of murdering her daughter?
Of course, there’s the possibility that she’s actually turning her head towards religion. Hey look, nobody needs salvation more than her. But I’m just wondering that if it were a real change of heart, do you alert the media first?

We'll, considering the media convinced everyone she was/is a murderer, maybe she wthinks this will get them off her back. Murderer or not, she definitely has some problems. I suppose we should pray that this helps.

Possibly. Jesus told the cured leper to keep it a secret, and we saw how that worked.

Many have their "Jesus" moment when incarcerated. Volunteers and priests who go in and minister to the inmates do see "resurrection" of the soul happen sometimes before their eyes. Jesus is able to heal the broken hearted, the stone hearted, and even the apathetic heart. Never doubt the power of prayer and the human touch. Sometimes, just being imprisoned is the impetus someone needs to see the light.

@elm, I would sure hope so but I have my doubts as to how sincere this actually is. She alerted the media. Who does that unless they want media attention? Maybe she is trying to cast herself in a more favorable light but then again she may just want the attention.

Who are we to doubt the validity of Ms Anthony's conversion? Does any of us possess the ability to read souls? I do not. Thus the presumption is err on the side of compassion and pray that this conversion be true and lasting. We pray in the Our Father that God forgive us as we forgive others and are reminded in Scripture that the measure we use against other is the measure God will use on us. We should walk gently in allowing ourselves to judge the authenticity of a conversion. ST Gregory VII…pray for us.
