I feel like sometimes we end up reporting lots of bad news. So here’s some good news.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed a bill that will cut off public funding for organizations that perform abortions.
“This is a common sense law that tightens existing state regulations and closes loopholes in order to ensure that taxpayer dollars are not used to fund abortions, whether directly or indirectly,” Brewer said in a statement. “By signing this measure into law, I stand with the majority of Americans who oppose the use of taxpayer funds for abortion.”
That’s great news. And then I just read that Utah’s governor has enacted a 72 hour waiting period for abortion.
So for all those folks who say there’s no difference between the two parties, there is.
Right now, these are minor victories if you look at the scale of abortion nationwide. But they’re victories nonetheless. And defunding Planned Parenthood is major. Now we just have to ensure some dopey judge doesn’t declare it illegal to defund Big Abortion.
