This is rich. A Catholic Democrat state Senator decides the Church is wrong on issues such as abortion, euthanasia, same-sex “marriage” and embryonic stem cell research.
Then, not only does the “Catholic” politician say the Church is wrong, but he puts it out there that it may be illegal for the Church to talk about those issues precisely because they disagree with his political stances.
The San Francisco Gate:
A Democratic state senator says a letter meant for reading at North Dakota Roman Catholic church services is intended to support Republicans.
Fargo Sen. Tim Mathern says the letter could jeopardize the church’s nonprofit status.
Mathern is Catholic. He says he’s asked Bismarck Bishop David Kagan to withdraw the letter. Kagan oversees North Dakota’s Catholic churches.
The letter says abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage and embryonic stem cell research is “never acceptable.”
It doesn’t name any candidate or political party. But it says “the positions of the two political parties and the positions of their candidates are well known” on those issues.
So to be clear, this punk dissents from Church teaching and now says the Church can’t talk about those teachings because he dissents from them.
Mind you, according to this lunatic, the Church can continue being the Church but they just can’t talk about those little issues like life, death, and family.
