Jesus told people to give to the poor. But Mayor Michael Bloomberg says not before he can check the salt content of what you’re giving.
Check out the latest insanity from CBS:
Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s food police have struck again!
Outlawed are food donations to homeless shelters because the city can’t assess their salt, fat and fiber content, reports CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer.
Glenn Richter arrived at a West Side synagogue on Monday to collect surplus bagels — fresh nutritious bagels — to donate to the poor. However, under a new edict from Bloomberg’s food police he can no longer donate the food to city homeless shelters.
So the homeless can starve but Nanny Bloomberg will make sure it’s not from heart disease associated with too much salt. Thank goodness for Nanny Bloomberg.

If Mr. Richter were to hand out the bagels discreetly, one of the recipients would sue both him and the synagogue. Thus does a tyranny poison everyone.

If people are too stupid to make food choices how are they smart enough to know who to elect? Big gulp any one?

This has nothing to do with healthy food. Always look at the end result, not the reason given. This is a way to reach the socialist aim of eliminating private charity. They can't openly outlaw private charity so they regulate it to death.

Mari: Correct. Stalin created an artificial famine in the Ukraine and starved 30,000,000 people to death. Insane with hunger, people ate their children. Stalin said: "To kill one man is homicide. To kill 30,000,000 is a statistic." Storm troopers invaded homes by force and tore up floorboards to find any hidden food. Food became illegal to own. In New York, the power of the state is being brought to bear as though hungry people cannot taste too much salt. This is a violation of the person's freedom to taste salt, too much, too little. Taste is a very individual talent. The state, the communist state, only deals with people as a mass, not as individual persons with freedom to live their lives according to how God created us. Salt, more salt, less salt. Did not Lot's wife turn into a pillar of salt when she saw what God did to the Sodomites? Preparing the way for the vindication of God's infinite JUSTICE is Bloomberg, isn't he?
