This video on wymen’s ordination is making the rounds but Patrick and I, as a service to our beloved readers planned to scour the twitter machine and gather responses from major religious leaders to this unforgettable video. But Golden Corral had an all-you-can-eat shrimp from 12-1 so instead we just made them up to save time.
Here’s the video and then below it you can see the twitter responses.

I have a feeling that that is what a mass would be like if those women were priests.

Puppet liturgy is starting to look more Novus Ordo to me.

It just pisses me off when people urinate on the Novus Ordo mass and compare it to the puppet masses. I found that last comment offensive and innapropriate.

Mr. Mysterious back at you-
I find your potty mouth comment inappropriate and offensive.

MaryW,
What is so offensive about using that word? Forgive my ignorance.

I actually found it to be a clever pun! This is just silly. Great response, guys!

Great lyric possibilities. NOT No sacrament can be actualized on individuals who have self-excommunicated themselves.

Oofta. That pretty much covers it.

What these women do is less than irrelevant. Why dignify it by giving it publicity. As for the novus ordo Mass, if you don't like it the schismatics are looking for members

Sorry for the offense mysterious, I have no problem with traditional Latin masses. I certainly wouldn't ever do something so base to anything sacred. The humor was an attempt to show the degree to which this plea for women ordination is beyond silly by taking something which we can all agree is silly, and comparing it as being closer to the sacred than this video. Both the women in this Youtube clip and those who engage in clown ministry or puppet masses fail to comprehend that the mass is not a show or a showcase. When people try to make the mass relevant, they are missing the reality that the mass is far more real and relevant than anything we glom onto it.

Sad, so very sad

Being an Anglo Catholic, I know what women in the pulpit sound like: how WRONG we are to not "believe " in them (YOU JUST DON'T GET IT). Then there were the "don't let the door hit them in the a*s on the way out," that is to say, exclusion is their message. That and how GREAT they are. It's all self-centeredness, and when I argued with them (years ago now), their bottom-line assertion was that they know "better" than Christ (about everything). It's a long nightmare that people don't want to wake up from.

Oh, Archbolds, you've done it again!
That this is a gag was quickly evident even to me, dullard tho' I am, because of the good humor of the young woman playing the faux-priestess.

For women really entertaining the thought of becoming a priest read all of St. Therese of Lisieux. The great saint realized the arrogance of such thoughts. Secondly, at least wear the vestments properly. A stole is not worn outside the chasuble.

I think this is inappropriate use of God's name and the sign of the cross to take the mickey. As Padre Pio said, you can't fight Satan with Satan.
