I have been traveling on business these past weeks (hence my light posting). I cut my latest trip short a day because if I didn’t, I don’t think I would have made it home until after the weekend. Fortunately, I reacted quickly enough to news of the looming storm to change my flights to Thursday before everyone else did.
I woke up this morning to discover a big blue blog over my house.

See that really dark spot over Long Island? Yeah, that’s my house.
On the upside, I bought an awesome snow-blower 2 years ago and have never had a chance to use it. Looks like I will get my chance. Other upside, my children’s over-scheduled Saturday just got cancelled. Nothing to do but sit around and be a family.
Big blue blobs ain’t so bad.

Pop out to your garage and put car wax on the shoot of your snow blower so the snow doesn't stick. This also works great on snow shovels.
Stay safe…

Have fun. Better you than us. And it's not caused by global warming.

"I bought an awesome snow-blower 2 years ago and have never had a chance to use it. "
What?!? You're so lucky! What have you done in past storms?

I hope you have some good movies to watch.
And plenty of cocoa.

I was supposed to move into our new house tomorrow. The whole process has been so crazy. This snowstorm is a final straw that's beginning to make me wonder if we should have bought the house in the first place.

@Proud Hillbilly: it might well be caused by global warming (which is and always was a misnomer, since it also makes winters colder), but only human arrogance could make us believe global warming is anthropogenic. It's just what the climate is doing at this stage of the cycle.
It's probably related to something the Sun is doing, since Mars is having global warming too, and humans can't very well have caused that.

When you started talking about a BLOB I thought maybe you had joined the ranks of Planned Parenthood.

Snow. . . I have vague recollections of that stuff. Meanwhile, we're in year two of a drought here in Kansas. Sure wish some moisture would blow this way. I hope you enjoyed your snowbound day.
