I think I miss the days when we lied to ourselves. There was something innocent about all the self-delusion that surrounded the abortion issue. All that “blob of tissue” talk was believed by so many who preferred not to know otherwise.
Faced with ignorance about what was actually going on in the womb, pro-lifers like me thought that if we could just prove that it’s not just a blob of tissue in the womb then we’d win the day. And that’s been our goal for at least the past decade. We’ve talked about fingernails. We’ve talked about heartbeats. We’ve bought ultrasound machines for crisis pregnancy centers. We’ve shown pictures of babies reaching out of the womb and grabbing doctors fingers. We’ve lectured about DNA.
And we’ve achieved our goal. But we’re still losing the debate about abortion.

Spot on. I heard a dynamic pro-life speaker last weekend tell hundreds of people that "we are winning!" because this generation is more pro-life than their parents. she said that kids today know that a baby is in the womb instead of a "blog of tissue." I appreciated her heart and enthusiasm but disagreed.
I concur that we are winning the *biology* debate… yes, the youth get that it's a baby. But we are losing the moral debate. When the rubber meets the road, this is what the new generation has to say:
"Yeah, I know it's a baby… but it's my right to kill it."
THAT battle cannot be fought at a podium, but through tremendous prayer, fasting, and our TOTAL service and witness to the call of Love in every area of life.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created (not born) equal. Roe v Wade ignored all of our founding principles. The Preamble to our Constitution, the unchangeable purpose of our law of the land, is inscribed for "the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity". "Our posterity" are all generations who have been aborted. When this coming generation learns that 55 million of their brothers and sisters are aborted, the wrath of God will be visited upon us if we are lucky, otherwiae we are at the mercy of every person who has survived.

Abortion was "legalized" because the soul, the human soul was bringing forth another human being, body and soul, into life. Abortion is anti-life, anti human soul, anti human sovereign personhood. After reading the Declaration of Independence that holds self-evident truths, Sarah Weddington, the abortion lawyer in Roe v. Wade demanded that the Supreme Court "PROVE" that the newly conceived sovereign person is a PERSON. In reality, a person who repudiates her founding principles repudiates her citizenship. Weddington had no legal standing before the Supreme Court, any court in America. Prove Sarah Weddington exists as a citizen without U.S. founding principles to which even naturalized citizens must swear an oath. I do not believe Sarah Weddington's citizenship exists.

Unfortunately, it is a symptom of a larger disease: selfishness and eugenics. At least more of the truth is being flushed out as to what is really motivating abortion (and euthanasia, the contraceptive mentality, and the list goes on and on). Gnosticism has reared its ugly head again. Satan, the father of lies and prince of destruction, has deluded humanity through the likes of Margret Sanger into seeing human life as a commodity best restricted for only certain types and classes of people.

So where are we in the struggle for life and against the Death Culture's goals of abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia? As Churchill said during another struggle against a Death Culture, "This is not the beginning of the end. But it is the end of the beginning."

Unfortunately, it is a symptom of a larger disease: selfishness and eugenics.
—Fr Bill Peckman

I agree with this assessment of Fr. Peckman. For too long the dark lessons of Genesis have been forgotten. Too many pro-life activists wanted to wish away the reality that females are at least as selfish and willing to kill for selfish ends as men.

If one turns it into just another debatable issue, then you've lost the debate. It's got to the stage where prolife organisations put natural self-evident objective truths to one side and attempt to "debate" pro-abortionists using the false premises, language and rules of the latter. People will always be tempted to do evil. One does not debate with them (that's what they want) but speak the truth. There can be no "right" to kill an innocent human being. Never was. Never will be.

"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we begin by declaring that “all men are created equal.” We now practically read it “all men are created equal, except negroes.” When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read “all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and catholics.” When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty-to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy [sic].” Abraham Lincoln. and now the newly conceived…

We've got to start controlling ourselves with how we present our stance. When we try to jam our beliefs down Pro-choicers throats then they become defensive and whenever we slip-up in our argument they capitalize on it. Try using a Socratic method and leave emotions at the door (I know that is hard to do). We will sound intelligent and our beliefs will worthy of consideration.

My wife and I married late and had 5 children very quickly. I realised then how tragic abortion is. To witness birth and the joy of life as it enters the world is absolutely sublime. It is probably one of the most dramatic events I have ever witnessed.

To think that USA is respnsible for over 56,000,000 aborted babies since the 1960s based on a perjury in court validating it as a legal act. What a terrible scandal. That is more than the number of deaths due to the Second World War.
