Academy Award winning actor Jeremy Irons didn’t exactly give a stirring defense of marriage here but hey, at least he raised some questions about it. He asked whether allowing same-sex marriage would open the door for interfamilial relationships. (It will.)
“Could a father not marry his son?” Irons asked.
He added that he worries that by legalizing gay marriage “it means somehow we debase, or we change, what marriage is. I just worry about that.”
He then switches the subject to how much he likes his dog or something. But you could see the reporter did not like what Irons had said about marriage. Neither did those in the combox at the HuffPo. The word “bigot” came up pretty quickly.

I love the HuffyPoo audiences interpretation of freedom of speech or more importantly, the freedom to openly and intelligently express ideas and concepts tht facilitate in depth and meaningful discussions about our society….with name calling and venom.
I think it interesting that the reporters are fully inon the business of bussing their own contributions. Thank you Fox and Msnbc for ruining the media.

News reporters were biased long before Fox came along, we just didn't see it…

Hopefully, Irons will stand by what he said.

It was happening at least as far back as the Vietnam war– there just weren't any public voices opposing their spin.
