Despite the public longing of progressives and the press turned rumor for a change to the prohibition on divorced and remarried people receiving communion, the rumor is false.
A Vatican dicastery has taken the unusual step of issuing a public denial that it is preparing a document on the reception of Communion by divorced and remarried Catholics.
The Pontifical Council for the Family issued an announcement on April 25 that “there is no basis to the news, circulated by some press agencies, that a document on distributing communion to remarried divorced persons is being prepared.” Some reports, citing anonymous Vatican sources, had claimed that a document on that topic would soon be released.
I know that this is a tough situation, but a change to this would not make sense. Being ‘pastoral’ to those in these situations should never mean turning a blind eye to sin.

I'd encourage you to check twice at catholicmatch.com there are many many couples visiting there, even some in the featured stories, who are divorced without annulments. There is little to no direction from the website as to authentic Church teaching on this- a SHAME. People can find this "If you are a divorced Catholic, you will receive the support of a compassionate community of Catholics who have traveled the same road, enduring divorce, seeking annulments and emerging wiser. Youll also meet singles who have never been married and will benefit from your perspective." and this:
"3. Registration Obligations
In agreeing to these terms you acknowledge that you are at least 18 years of age, not legally married, and are able to receive the services provided. Please be aware that divorced members who are not free to marry in the Catholic Church are permitted to use CatholicMatch but not for romantic purposes. If this is your situation, we encourage you to contact your parish priest or Diocesan Marriage Tribunal to determine if you are a candidate for the annulment process." if you really dig around. but that is IT!!
