Things are getting awfully dark in America folks. Awfully dark.
The Pentagon has confirmed to Breitbart that soldiers could be prosecuted for evangelizing.
The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis…”.
The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.
(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians–including chaplains–sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”)
Being convicted in a court martial means that a soldier has committed a crime under federal military law. Punishment for a court martial can include imprisonment and being dishonorably discharged from the military.

And the Family Research Council is asking for signatures for a petition they intend to forward to the Pentagon.

I don't want my soldier's trying to convert Christians to become Satan worhipping Wiccuns. In exchange for that, I'll gladly require that Christian soldiers extend the same courtesy

Somehow, the armed forces have managed to have chaplains and people of all and even no faiths co-exist up to now without a need for policies that essentially put a latex over any faith that might be practiced.

In the U.S. Military You can be openly homosexual but not openly religious?
May 2, 2013 at 4:01 am
This, if its true, does not mean you cant be openly religious. Look up this word: proselytizing. It would be like if you are gay, and you try to convert others to be gay as well. Of course you should be able to be open about being who you are whether gay, straight, christian, atheist. Its when someone tries to push these ideas on you and convert you that there is a problem.

It would be like if you're gay and you try to convert others to support your lifestyle and affirm gay marriage. Oh wait, the government is all for that kind of proselytizing.

to Anon 1 May 11:01, Thanks for telling me what proselytizing means. Hm. I guess I was being sarcastic. Hm. I guess I have a habit of that. What about you?

to Anon 2 May 12:23 AM, Exactly.

Regarding the court-martialing of Christians in the military. Proselytizing (Sheep stealing) by those in authority (implying career coercion threat) is considered abusive in the Military. Apparently some in the military who hold higher rank are perceived by those with whom they are sharing the Gospel, because of the inequality in rank, as bringing pressure on soldiers of inferior rank beyond the Gospel's call to conversion.
We see this in High School Sports programs where the Fellowship of Christian Athletes uses undue influence to pressure people of one church to disavow their family's faith in favor of evangelicalism.
Catholic team members find the peer pressure to conform to Protestant Christianity is overwhelming, and that in some cases, coaches who are members of the same evangelical churches hold out the carrot of "playing time" and advancement on the team as 'helps' for deciding for Christ.
It also happens in some businesses owned by Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses, where I have even seen disparities in pay for their church members are used to coerce Catholics to apostatize themselves for economic or career gains. This is the root of this story on christian proselytizing in the military.

Perhaps all soldiers ought to start carrying tape recorders so that if a person asks about your faith and you tell them and then they turn around and accuse you, you at least, have proof.

Weinstein's "treason" is when people do not allow all persons to peaceably assemble to praise God. The First Amendment must be taken as a whole, to worship God, to speak to God, to write about God, and to peaceably assemble for God. The First Amendment is ratified to protect man's relationship with God. Religion may be defined as a man's relationship with God. Any person who repudiates our founding principles repudiates America and his citizenship. The atheist may go her own way. Americans have a First Amendment that is given to us "or prohibit the free exercise thereof" The charge of treason prohibits the free exercise thereof. Everyone has a free will and freedom to ask the other person to not speak of his religion. The rest is censorship of free speech by the Department of Defense.
If an atheist, anti-Catholic is appointed to be religion czar, why can't the garbage man be president? If Weinstein believed in the human soul he would not be an atheist. Tiananmen Square all over again.

We have reached the point when Christians ought to refuse military service.
May 2, 2013 at 1:53 pm
Its time for Christians to get out of the military. The country is no longer worth it.

I received my 20 year letter yesterday…
I thank God for that.

I spent 22 years in the Navy, retiring at the end of January of '93. During that whole time period I know of absolutely NO instances of anyone being coerced regarding religious beliefs or their lack. The closest thing to that was a boat whose skipper would charge foulmouthed sailors under Art. 15 of the UCMJ (captains mast). So anyone with uncontrollable potty mouth had a problem. But that was it.
I doubt things have changed much regarding religious proselytizing since then.
To tell the truth, during my time in service the "Bible thumpers" of any real professional competence kept pretty quiet, maybe because their more vocal counterparts were remarkably poor sailors.
My point is that this whole thing is a non issue from Jump Street. IMO somebody is setting things up for a purge of Christians.
When do they bring in the lions?

….in San Diego,
….we have the 6th fleet naval base, two marine bases, a nuclear sub base and the coast gaurd academy…
…..the idiocy of the government…
…..those morons in the obama admin forgot that the military also has "dependents"!!!!!!
….you know, extended family members that help "build" morale!
….and they do "pray" and do go to "church" in support of their loved ones!
….sssooooo,..does this mean the families are under the same gov edict?
…..this is the "stupidist!!!" administration I have ever seen!!!!
….my rant,
….of all the moronic, two dimensional, lack of lateral thinking, inside the teeny weeny, itty bitty microscopic box, that obama calls a brain.
….I can assure him, totalitarianism is "not" for everyone!
….please, sir,…quit offending me and my CATHOLIC faith "every time" you and your minions open your mouths!

There is the old saying: "There are no atheists in foxholes" and yet this is exactly what our godless administration wants. No comfort for the dying or the strength that only faith can bring.
Yet they are teaching in boot camps that pro-life people are "terrorists" and that is fine. Lies and more lies, nothing but lies coming as we are being prepared to be a godless communist nation.

Your government will consult with and be advised by Christ Haters but not by Christ Lovers. Your government is Evil.
May 4, 2013 at 3:49 am
"You should always be loyal to your country, loyal to your government when it deserves it."
Mark Twain . I think this was a very good principle at that time. In this time we are having a hard time recognizing our country, let alone defining it. Please do not misunderstand me. I am not going anywhere and would never betray my country, but I do participate in it as little as possible.
I am losing fondness and no longer have trust.

Why not a full frontal assault? It's no big deal. When you see pictures all over the press of a higher up of the largest Christian church in the world “yucking it up" with a POTUS who is undermining said church, what do you expect? Christianity as a whole is easy pickins.
And no! Jesus did not hold a “roast” and invite Herod!

The Government has been systematically turned into Big Brother by the Global Elite. The MSM is their propaganda machine by which they brainwash the dumbed-down populace. Find independent Media and find out the truth behind the blatant lies.
