In a speech about immigration, self proclaimed Catholic Vice President Joe Biden invoked the Bible and questioned the Christianity of those who oppose the current bill.
Said Biden: “Many of these same representatives talk about their Christianity and their fidelity to the Bible but they forget Matthew Chapter 25 verse 34 where scripture teaches us ‘I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.'”
This is pure asshattery on a few fronts. Biden clearly believes that the Bible has plenty to say about border security but nothing at all about killing the unborn. Couldn’t that exact verse from the Bible be used to teach us how to treat babies? And while the Bible informs his views on immigration, it doesn’t on marriage where the Bible is also pretty darn clear?
Secondly, Biden is clearly questioning the Christianity of those who oppose the bill saying that while they “talk” of their Christianity they “forget” their Christianity on the issue of immigration. Isn’t this the same Biden who was so offended by other politicians questioning his faith that he said, “The next Republican that tells me I’m not religious I’m going to shove my rosary beads down their throat.” So it’s offensive when people question his faith but fine when he does it of others?
And finally, what happened to that wall of separation between Church and state Joe?
It’s probably best if we don’t seek consistency from Joe. It would just be sad if he weren’t Vice President. But he is. And it’s even sadder.

To the unrepentant, apostic, heretical, anticatholic biden,
You are "Not" religious!
Never stood up for the truth. Calling out the lack of faith and intellectual dishonesty, the hypocrisy behind the facade, hiding in the floorboards of Holy Church!
Never liked the way you (king rat) have always used the Church for your own, scandalous self promotion!
And don't even think about "shoving" anything anywhere!
By the way, you'll "never" be prez, that idiot and chief, in office now, has already wiped our country out before you had a chance to.
Not that you, weak and meally mouthed, didn't have any "minor" role on your part, in its demise!

I think a lot of us know Joe Biden really well. We've met him at parish council meetings. We've argued with him at Bible studies and the fish fry. We had to listen to him address a retreat or our kids told us what he taught them at Sunday school. He isn't always named Joe, of course, but it's him anyway.
It doesn't matter that he's wrong. It doesn't matter whether he knows he's wrong or not. What matters is that when some poor sap makes an appointment with Father to tell him about it, Fr. says that Joe is a Catholic, too, and everyone needs to have love and respect for him, and none of us should cast the first stone. Maybe, Fr. says, the problem isn't with Joe, it's with you. Maybe you're feeling guilty about your own sins.
Later on, a bunch of parishoners get together and discuss Joe and his many problems, and most of them wonder when Father is going to do something about it.

Hmmm… Wonder if ole Uncle Joe remembers what Jesus said about "watering down" the commandments. And the consequences of getting others to do the same.

"Uncle" joe sounds like that grinning, chester the perve, everyone knows about, but doesn't do anything about. Yet, still are courteous to in publc, exchange pleasantries with, and then turn to your kids after he leaves and say, "stay away from that clown"!

Biden & the Bible, Pelosi & the Catechism, Barrack & the Constitution, Clinton & an intern, Michelle & a triple quarterpounder with cheese, … see the pattern here?

It bothers me how people are so quick to label someone as un-Christian or uncaring because they oppose a bill. It's 1,200+ pages of lobbyist-written pandering to various special interest groups that many say isn't comprehensive at all and doesn't provide a good long term immigration policy both socially and economically. Oh wait, I forgot. We're suppose to vote purely on sound bites and emotion and not let our pesky brains get in the way.
It's like someone offering untreated, polluted water to a thirsty person. Just because it's an offer doesn't make it a good one and rejecting that offer doesn't make someone a bad person. But our politicians want us to believe that any rejection of their (polluted) policies for whatever reason make those opposed to it bad people.
