Kudos to Bono here. There is no happy hippie Jesus. Either Jesus was who He said He was, or he was the worst kind of nut or plain evil.
When you claim to be the messiah and the Son of God, you either are or you aren’t. You can’t have it in the middle.
Is it me or does the interviewer treat Bono like he Bono must be the nutter?

CS Lewis had a third option, i.e., a con man. Thus, liar, lunatic or Lord…

Has the interviewer never met a Christian before? His questions are weird.

The interviewer is Gabriel Byrne who is catholic, playing devils advocate, I believe.

If you like your religion, you can keep your religion.
If Obama signed the ACA, he signed his own political death warrant, and the ACA as written and signed. What's in a name?

I hope Mr. Bono gave attribution to C. S. Lewis.
I also hope Mr. Bono will pay his taxes just like the rest of us.

Maybe, but Mike Lee is a jerk, as all Republicans are, because they do nothing about these things. They just let all the the progressive atrocities pile up and use them to get elected. Anyone wants to sincerely tell me the Republicans didn't have enough political power in between the years 1972-2014 to end abortion?
Additionally, if things are made obvious, and it is either back to the catacombs or keep your little happy bourgeiosie life by denying Christ, then in some ways we'd be better off. It would become more obvious, for one thing, who is actually a Christian, and who is just part of the Church of Churchianity. The Churchians end up pushing a lot of us out of Church, because we can't put up with the stupid anymore. I've got a suspicion they'll go worship at a state approved temple instead of deal with any hardship.

Certain journalists who write and report for left leaning publications tend to regard religious convictions, especially on the part of such icons as Bono, as, if not pathological, at least distasteful.
April 2, 2014 at 3:04 pm
I do think they tend to speak for their readers, who are thoroughly secular people on the whole.
I was still astonished. I'd thought Bono gave up religion years ago.

I think he's disconcerted that the celeb was so unequivocal in his responses. In general, on the subject of religion, interviewers on that channel are only programmed to conduct conversations in tones of hostility, derision or weak-kneed equivocation. Anything outside those contexts throws them.

It looks like a rosary around Bono's neck. Hard to tell. I hope so.

going after tax exeption would have far reaching effects. then all donations would be taxable. goodbye all charities. Im sure the government would not object to getting rid of all charities.

Woah woah woah. One incremental step at a time. We can't admit it yet. So we'll push for the next temporary expansion, the next false promise, the next oh-be-thankful-for-what-rights-we-allow-you-to-have. Power grab with each deceptive act. Political rhetoric to convince you to surrender power, never to express truth.

Haven't we seen the rise of the new state "religion"? Obamacare was just the front door.
When the government defines, then dictates the parameters of our belief system, isn't that cause for concern? Who didn't see this coming!
We are already suffering punitive "negative feedback" actions from the government over gay rights and abortion. Those issues, in their eyes, "always" trump religious freedom! Its only a matter of the next shoe to drop.
Some of us won't, just roll over for the government beast.

yeah, just follow whatever they use as arguments, that's their wish list.

A church that is open and free is always the better option, provided of course that it is faithful, as it makes it easier to gain converts. That is the point of the church, to make disciples of all nations.

The HHS Mandate was never voted on by Congress, the voice of the people, the informed voice of the people. The HHS Mandate was added after the ACA was passed with no input for the people. For this reason alone the HHS Mandate is tyranny and unconstitutional. If the Supreme Court thinks not, then it ought to be replaced. If we cannot pray that they obey Justice and constitutional principles, then let us pray that they recuse themselves.
