This one shocked me. I know it shouldn’t but it did.

Luján stroke jolts 50-50 Senate

News of Sen. Ben Ray Luján’s (D-N.M.) stroke sent shockwaves through the Senate on Tuesday, underscoring the fragility of Democrats’ 50-50 majority.”

A man suffered a stroke. HIs life was put in danger. And the media reports that this man’s stroke UNDERSCORES THE FRAGILITY OF THE DEMOCRATS’ MAJORITY!!!

This is what you sell you sell yourself to when you live for the adulation of the media. They don’t care about you. You are a pawn to be used to further their leftist utopian dream.

All these powerful people. They’re living in the eyes of others. They seek power. They seek adulation. But it is all so temporary.

I can’t help but think of Percy Shelley’s poem Ozymandias about how fleeting the things of this life are.

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Do not live in the eyes of others. Live for an audience of one. The one. Do not seek the adulation of the media, the masses, or even your peers. There is a reason God made the first commandment “I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me.” That is not for Him. That is for us.

If knowing God, loving God, and serving God is the goal of your life, it will be a good life.

The media will forget you. The masses will turn away. God knows you and loves you and will not turn away if you seek Him out.
