A male student at Shawnee State University demanded that a professor refer to him as a woman because…well, just because. To the surprise of the Western world, the professor refused, saying that his demand would infringe on his rights as a Christian.

The male man who is totally male freaked out and threatened the professor with his job. Predictably, the college completely sided with the mentally ill man making outrageous demands. The university “investigated” the incident and determined that the professor “created a hostile environment” by believing in science and reality and not submitting to the demands of a mentally ill man.

To be clear, the professor said he would refer to the male by any name he wished but he wouldn’t lie by calling him “Ma’m” or “Miss” or a “woman.” Because that falls short of complete submission, the mentally ill man and the woke college administrators rejected that offer.

The college warned the professor that if this happened again “corrective actions” would be taken, which meant submit or be fired.

But the professor was like “Nah” and pushed back. He sued the university saying it violated his “right to free exercise of religion under the First Amendment.”

And now, Shawnee State University in Ohio has reached a settlement and agreed to pay philosophy professor Nick Meriwether $400,000 in damages and attorney fees and rescind the written warning.

Dude is hero of the day.

Shout out to the Alliance Defending Freedom for representing him.

“Public universities should welcome intellectual and ideological diversity, where all students and professors can engage in meaningful discussions without compromising their core beliefs,” said ADF Senior Counsel Tyson Langhofer, director of the ADF Center for Academic Freedom. “Dr. Meriwether rightly defended his freedom to speak and stay silent, and not conform to the university’s demand for uniformity of thought. We commend the university for ultimately agreeing to do the right thing, in keeping with its reason for existence as a marketplace of ideas.”
