The House voted unanimously to order the declassification of intelligence about the origins of COVID-19 in China. It had previously passed the Senate so now the bill lands on the desk of President Joe Biden.

What will he do?

The bill would require Director of National Intelligence to declassify any information about links between the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

When specifically asked, the White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre just said, “We’re taking a look at the bill.”

Hmmm. That doesn’t sound very promising, does it?

It has become increasingly prevalent, even among Democrats, to allow that Covid-19 came from the Wuhan lab in recent weeks.

The Department of Energy recently concluded that it was plausible that the virus originated from a lab. The FBI recently supported that theory as well.

I’m trying to figure why now they’re willing to allow this while just weeks ago this was a dangerous right wing conspiracy.

“Now the American people will be able to see what their government knows about COVID origins — and those who lied about it can be held accountable,” Hawley tweeted after the bill passed Friday. “Next stop for my COVID origins bill, Joe Biden’s desk. Sign it.”

Will Biden be the fall guy here? Will he fall on that sword by refusing to sign it? I doubt it. My guess is they’ve already deleted so many files that it would take years of investigating to uncover the truth. So I think they’ll make a big show of signing it but then slow walk it into irrelevance.

I don’t know how long it may take for the deaths of millions worldwide to be considered irrelevant but the Democrats are going to try to find out.
