You might recall in 2021, a young woman calling herself Nightbirde sang on America’s Got Talent and blew everyone away. She said, “you can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore to decide to be happy” and then discussed her terminal cancer diagnosis.

A few months later, Nightbirde had to remove herself from the televised competition because her cancer had worsened. Shortly before her death, she spoke about her fears and her belief that despite everything she’d been through she knows that “God is good” and we are all loved. She passed away shortly after recording this.

This week on AGT, a South African choir sang her song wonderfully. And it moved everyone. But it shows what a little courage and a beautiful expression of love can do. It can spread around the world and change people’s hearts. God bless Nightbirde. Rest in Peace.
