When the cowards admit to being cowards, believe them.
Malcolm Gladwell, the famous writer/thinker, admits here that he was “cowed” into accepting the trans ideology that says men should be allowed to play women sports. He now recants that.
Good to admit error but also … shout out to those of us who spoke the truth when doing so carried serious consequences. https://t.co/k2ospMRaaP

There’s part of me that wants to roll my eyes but I kinda’ get his reticence. He’s probably always been on the left side of issues and just accepted that the left was correct on this issue too. The fact that he said he was “cowed” means that at some level he considered that to be crazy but publicly said otherwise because at that moment to say otherwise could’ve cost him…uhm…everything.
Look at JK Rowling. She went from icon status to hated figure to our elites. Why? Because she said a trans dude in a dress isn’t a woman.
So, instead of pointing out his cowardice here I think it’s also time to recognize that woke may have reached ebb tide. It has been pushed back. There’s still a great deal of battle that needs to take place so we should be happy to be accepting recruits. But just recall that cowardice is not in short supply. Courage is rare.
The courage of a man. The courage to act. What is it? You see it and you think you know it. The thing is, you don’t. You think it’s a feeling. A rush of blood. A decision made on the edge of the moment. And you’re wrong.
Courage is not a feeling. It’s a conviction. It’s a standing. A man stands. He stands on something. The ground, a foundation. A belief. What belief? That some things are true. They are true. They are not true for you. They are not true for me. They are not a social construct or an opinion with a hashtag. They are true. They are a fact of the universe. A fact of God. A fact.
When you believe in objective truth, you see the lie. You see the wrong thing for what it is. A lie. A wrong thing. It’s not a different perspective. It’s not a choice. It’s a perversion. The coward looks at the lie and says, “That’s his truth.” He says, “Who am I to judge?” He has no ground. He has nothing to stand on. His legs are trembling. He has no courage.
But the man with faith, the man who believes in a hard, unbreakable truth has his footing. He looks at the lie and calls it a lie. He looks at the wrong thing and calls it wrong. He has a foundation. A rock. His courage is not a grand gesture. It’s a simple step. A step forward. It is the only thing he can do. Because the rock holds. Because the truth is what it is. And the man, he just stands on it.
Let’s bring this down from the clouds. Malcolm Gladwell hasn’t discovered truth here. He’s realized public sentiment has shifted so he shifted. He realized there are no negative ramifications anymore for saying this so he will tentatively step forward that much and no further.
This could be the first step towards finding something steady on which to plant his feet or just another quick step in a lifelong dance to remain accepted among his peers.
