Whew. that’ll be an interesting convo with the kid someday. I don’t actually know if the couple was male or female but for my brilliant little screenplay that follows I need a gender so they’re dudes. I’m taking some liberties here.
Inquisitive Child: Hey Daddy #2, why are we rich?
Daddy #2: Oh that’s because we tried to kill you and then we sued the person that saved you for burdening us with you!
BREAKING: A same-sex couple is suing their surrogate for $600K after she refused to abort their baby at 22 weeks in Canada.

Scans indicated the child had a cleft lip and a possible heart defect.
The little boy was born healthy.
That child is alive today not because of the men…
So, I’ll give some background. A same sex couple hired a surrogate to carry a child. At some point the child was diagnosed with a possible cleft palate and a heart defect. The couple was horrified that the child wouldn’t be perfect and problem free and ordered the surrogate to abort.

The surrogate refused. She had this weird notion that children shouldn’t be killed for imperfections. I know, right? So the child was born despite the couple’s wishes and now they’re suing the surrogate for $600,000 for giving them a baby.
A wrongful life lawsuit? Sheesh. The 21st century is going to be a doozy, isn’t it?
Surrogacy turns women and children into objects of trafficking or commercial contracts, exploiting material needs. Life is no longer the product of a sacramental union in love but a transaction. We are monetizing the womb, God help us all. The truth is that if we view the world through a materialist lens everything is…material. And material, even life, becomes a commodity.

“The truth is that if we view the world through a materialist lens everything is…material. And material, even life, becomes a commodity.”
And if that notion gets baked into an AI with control of the nukes, it might just perform a mercy killing.
My “Terminator” sequel has a human time-traveler escaping to the future after the destruction of mankind. He finds ruins and corroded machinery, Skynet having concluded that the job was done and turning itself off.
