I’m not kidding you. This is the real lede for an Associated Press news article that appeared on the Yahoo home page today.
WASHINGTON (AP) — That smiling guy walking down the street? Odds are he’s a Barack Obama backer. The grouchy looking one? Don’t ask, and don’t necessarily count on him to vote on Tuesday, either.
No media bias there, right? The media has lost all pretense of objectivity this election year. You have to give it to them. They laid their cards on the table. They’re not even pretending anymore.

“That smiling guy walking down the street? Odds are he’s a Barack Obama backer.”
O RLY?
How about this nugget: Eric Jong:
“My friends Ken Follett and Susan Cheever are extremely worried. Naomi Wolf calls me every day. Yesterday, Jane Fonda sent me an email to tell me that she cried all night and can’t cure her ailing back for all the stress that has reduces her to a bundle of nerves.”
“My back is also suffering from spasms, so much so that I had to see an acupuncturist and get prescriptions for Valium.”

Here in Australia, after John Howard’s fourth election victory in ’04, some papers described conservative voters as “grimly trudging to the polls”, without enthusiasm to, “do their duty”, while leftists were excited and energized etc.
There’s nothing new under the sun. If McCain does pull off a near-miracle expect stories of “grim”, “grouchy” conservatives trudging to the polls (behind the Confederate flag, whistling “Dixie”, no doubt) to do their duty to stop “real Americans” from anointing “The One”.

They’re reporting on a poll. How is the article biased?
It shouldn’t be any surprise that Obama supporters are gleeful and McCain supporters are depressed, as Obama is likely to win and McCain likely to lose.
Interesting that one should bring up the Confederate flag since McCain once said that it “a symbol of racism and slavery.”

I dunno….. if this Ebay auction is any indication of voting habits, then the Dems ought to panic. 😉

About a week ago I noticed the media and some spokesheads began acknowledging press bias, which is pretty hard to deny after the Pew study. Journalism schools could do an entire course on this election. Or they could just close.
