Every once in a while a story comes along that not only reinforces the justness of our cause but makes abundantly clear the depravity of the other side.
This is the case with a story out today. When the world describes destroying children as a fertility breakthrough, we are in big trouble.
[Telegraph] Researchers at the pioneering Northeast England Stem Cell Institute say they have made the breakthrough using stem cells from an embryo.
Within 10 years, the scientists say the technique could also be used to allow infertile couples to have children that are genetically their own. It could even be possible to create sperm from female stem cells, they say, which would ultimately mean a woman having a baby without a man.
You really have to pause a moment to absorb just how monstrous and absurd this is. Scientists are destroying human life with the hope that with some manipulation they might be able to create it. We will kill babies in order to use their cells to create other babies. One goal of this monstrous pursuit is to remove men entirely from the reproductive process. This is the type of thing that cries out for old testament biblical comeuppance. This has to stop.

Not to mention the fact that this new method of creating sperm from "scratch" will make men basically unnecessary.
God has been really patient with the human race but every time I read about another "breakthrough" like this one, I think we are slipping more and more into the abyss…

O Brave New World…

I often heard the line ""If God doesn't soon bring judgment upon America, He'll have to go back and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!" (attributed to Billy Graham's wife Ruth).
I've been thinking we're way past Sodom and into the time of the flood.

I think Catholics just got spoiled back at… the 12th century or so. We had a few hundred years where we were living in a Catholic culture, followed by a few hundred more where the culture was at least 'Christian."
But, for most of history, the people who worship God have been surrounded by pagans.
Embryonic stem cell research is just the new cult of Baal and Ishteroth. "Kill your children for us so that you may be prosperous and long-lived…)
I'd say we're not in the time of the flood… more like judges or kings…..

I am horrified!! I teach chemistry, and recognize that many people engage in unnecessary research. Lab animals are sacrificed, money is poured into research that isn't meaningful, and some scientists seem to want to push the envelope and see how far they can go. Do they want to be God or prove that there isn't one? It's absurd!

Re: Deirdre,
Except that the sheer number of murdered children puts even Manasseh to shame.

Well, we're just going to have to start re-christianizing the culture then!
As long as the culture is primarily pagan, we can't be suprised when the strong prey on the weak…… angry and depressed, yes. But suprised?

wow. So, taking an embryo (aka, egg + sperm = ___) to create sperm, which presumbably could then be combined with an egg to complete the equation again?… How on earth is this even a research priority?
I like the second sentence of the article, and *what* it says is created upon fertilization of the egg:
"They claim that with some minor changes the sperm could theoretically fertilise an egg to create a child."
A child.

I'd howl but it wouldn't be heard at least not by those who simply want what they want because they want it.
Perhaps the best way to illustrate the absurdity would be to substitute a word with a phrase. Scientists destroy an apple tree to create apple seed, and this is called "Progress."

There are well heeled groups who are seeking to elongate their lives. This is a fact. Check out the Rabbi who spoke in synagoge when Pope Benedict visited.
Needless to say, I believe Cardinal Ratzinger now Pope Benedict when he said that there would be a last assault upon God. It will be to attack His image and likeness in the creation of a hybrid human.
