From The BlogProf comes an amazing story:
Here’s a story that has received a total unwavering media blackout. A woman was going in to have an abortion at a local butcher shop in Duluth, and was confronted by two pro-life protesters that urged her not to kill her baby. The woman was so angry that she brandished a knife and held it to one of the pro-life protester’s throat. She was of course arrested for aggravated assault. That much the MSM may tell you, but it is the epilogue that caused an raised eyebrow. In court, the woman plead guilty to assault, but also, with tears streaming down her face, thanks the pro-life protester for saving her baby’s life!
I thought about just putting this up on The Reader but this story is pretty great. And besides we don’t have anything but skiers shooting other skiers and Fred Flintstone smoking on the main blog today.
So click on over to TheBlogProf for the rest of the story. It’s definitely worth it.

Whoa! Awesome. God bless Leah and Sarah Winandy. I am glad they convinced that woman to keep her baby. Unfortunately, she is major Whiskey-Tango (check the photo) and I sincerely hope she has the sense enough to give her child up for adoption where God willing it will at least get a fighting chance with a good family. Maybe Leah and/or Sarah will play saviors to the child yet again. God is indeed mysterious and wonderful.

Early Riser – What photo were you looking at? Her "booking" photo? No one looks good in those. How can you judge she should give up her child to adoption based on a photo? I am not picking a fight here, just wondering where you got the idea the child has a fighting chance with a good family? The article didn't say anything about what her economic, living, etc. arrangements are.

Early Riser,
With all due respect, as a card-carrying Okie, I strongly object both to your ethnic slur (you may as well have just said what you meant), and your odd contention that she would be unable to properly raise her child based solely on your perception of her appearance in a mug shot. For one thing, having a baby has transformed many a woman and man and brought out the best of their nature. For another thing, good parents exist in all socio-economic-cultural groups.

Agreed. The scourge of political correctness has left me pretty cynical and thick-skinned when it comes to the melanin-related epithets, and even I thought that was off the reservation.

Ahhh…oops.
Seinfield: Look you can't take it back like of of those…
Winona: One of those what?
Seinfeld: uhh…One of those people that give something to someone and then are later dissatisfied and want it back…
Winona: What?! Like an Indian Giver?!
Seinfeld: I'm sorry, I'm familiar with that term.

I calls 'em like I sees 'em. a) the fact that she had a mug shot at all kinda tells you something, doesn't it? b) women who carry assault knives are…well…you do the math c) For her to pull a knife on an unarmed woman is pretty low. d) she is unmarried and it doesn't sound like there will be a father in the picture.
I'm anything from politically correct. That is an abhorrent liberal trait that I just don't "cotton" to. Once again, I am VERY happy she repented, and ecstatic her baby will see the light of day (God Willing). But I think the signs point to it being better raised in a more stable home.
