I’ve got to admit to you I never even heard of Rep. Gerry Connolly until just now. But he’s got to be one of the leading jerks in Congress right now.
He scolds the panel arguing in favor of conscience rights that included Bishop William Lori of Bridgeport, and leaders of other faiths for blowing this whole HHS mandate thing completely out of proportion. This asshat even shakes his finger at them and says they’re taking part in a “Stalinist” hearing and tells them they should be ashamed of themselves.
You’ve got to watch this clown (barfbag not included):

Obot spew.

The only response a panel can rationally make to that kind of bloviating idiot is to contemptuously ignore him. Let him spew his crap and sit there calmly saying nothing. He has limited time; say nothing, run out the clock, don't dignify him by pretending he's said anything meriting a response.

This wonderful man is, unfortunately, my Congressman. Feel sorry for me.

Invincibly ignorant

Andrew, You do indeed have my sympathy. May I ask your sympathy? My Sen. is Barbara (small c catholic) Mikulski.
I understand that it was she who put this language into the HC Law.

Both of you have my sympathy, can I have yours? mi senators are the glittering idiot of colossal ignorance: Barbara Boxer and the other luminary: Diane Feinstein.

Wow! He used the word gainsay in a sentence! He must be very, very smart! But in humility I'm sure he would gainsay that.

My rep too, unfortunately. I've voted against him in every election possible since registering in the county. Sigh.
February 17, 2012 at 1:28 pm
That is scary.
February 17, 2012 at 2:17 pm
Wow! All I can say is that see how beguiling the other side is…how they can turn whatever they want in their so called favor…dispicable! Beware of the devil working slowly and subtly these days…we are in a war!
February 17, 2012 at 2:18 pm
Connolly? What are the chances he is "c"atholyc?
February 17, 2012 at 2:26 pm
Unctous pig.
February 17, 2012 at 2:29 pm
Leaders of other faiths?
Is that what we call Heretics in America?
LEADERS?
Not one single American Catholic woman has stopped using birth control since the Bishops took their 'stand' (with Heretics).

Oh my! He is my rep too. He claims to be Catholic, or at least raised Catholic, but I don't know that he ever darkens the door of a church these days. He graduated from a seminary prep school. In a comment at the left leaning magazine US Catholic he wrote about the Church: The good women are ignored. The good men are silenced. His last opponent was a faithful Catholic, and Connolly played the anti-Catholic card claiming that his opponent was an extremist because he followed the teachings of the Church.

He is talking to the majority party (republicans) that had no witness on the other side. He is chastising the leaders, not the panel. Have you listened to it?
Congressional hearings should be a different kind of "fair and balanced" than Fox "news".
This was the Fox "news" type of panel.

Can we just have the election tomorrow? I just can't take this anymore.

"Not one single American Catholic woman has stopped using birth control since the Bishops took their 'stand' (with Heretics)."
Just as long as those women pay for the toxic chemical themselves. I want no part in the culture of death. Catholic or not.

Every Catholic should be made aware that for less than the cost of a cup of coffee, you can send this guy home from Washington and put someone better in his place. Then every Catholic within hearing distance sends this guy's opponent $1.
We let them know that for less than the cost of a cup of coffee, we can get rid of any of them that support this.

I'm sick of putting up with politicians who behave like this. Flood his inbox with comments telling him that you don't accept this type of behavior. Don't let it slide when you see stuff like this – contact these jerks via their websites, even if you're not from their district or even their state. Let him know that the people are not on his side.
