Ick. There’s a taxpayer-funded pilot program in California for training non-doctors to perform first-trimester vacuum aspiration surgical abortions.
What? What could possibly be dangerous about that? They get two days of instructions on how to rip babies apart.
The Life Legal Defense Foundation requested to know who was involved in the project and a judge is essentially telling them to mind their own business and that nobody can know the names of people involved.
Chelsea Schilling reports on this madness. She writes:
In his May 17 decision, Judge Evelio Grillo denied the Life Legal Defense Foundation’s petition for a writ of mandate to require release of the names of physicians, clinicians and stakeholders who participated in the pilot project conducted by the University of California San Francisco/Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health.“[T]he court finds that the public interest in withholding the names of the Clinicians outweighs the public interest in disclosing those names,” the decision states. “First, there is a public interest in protecting persons who provide abortion services from harassment. … Second, the public has an interest in academic research, and that interest may be compromised if research participants cannot participate with the assurance that their privacy will be protected.”
It seems that all of this is tied to some legislation that Planned Parenthood is pushing. What a shock, I know. Planned Parenthood would love to save money and have janitors killing babies because they’re cheaper than doctors.
It seems that this program was supposed to form the basis of testimony to pass the bill that would allow non-doctors to perform abortions. And remember these are the people who care sooooo much about women.

So the pro-aborts are working on developing the back alley abortions that legalization was supposed to end?

ProudHillbilly just hit the nail on the head. They have been worried for some time that there just aren't enough doctors who want to kill babies anymore. What better way around it than to give all their staunch supporters the option to become an "abortion volunteer" (my term of course)?! Sickening isn't even a strong enough word, but the day just started and I can't think of a better one.

Hillbilly nailed it.

Ah,it has finally arrived, abortion for amateurs. Nurse practioners, advanced practice nurses and physicians' assistants are providing daily medical care to the American public. It's only fitting that the dark side of women's health care have its own clandestine cadre of physican extenders. What does the application form look like? What qualifies or disqualifies an applicant for/from this program? Every day in this country I see the growing power and prevalence of evil. Where will it end?

Since Mississippi proudly just closed down the only provider in the state, Roe v Wade is being overruled by legislative caviot. Pick, push women back into alleys or allow them in clinics.

For Anonymous referencing MS – Since one of the primary founders of NARAL, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, made it clear that the "women are dieing in back alley abortion" campaign was a deliberate lie in order to get abortion legalized so they could make big bucks out of it, the "alleys or clinic", in addition to containing a logical fallacy about evil, is bogus.

So it takes years of red tape, training, and putting up a substantial amount of money to legally practice various trades in CA such as cosmetology, being a barber, or opening a business like an ice cream stand in CA. I can't replace the bathroom sink in my house without getting the proper permits and paying (off) the right people. But we'll let non-doctors perform potentially life threatening surgery? Yeah, that makes sense.

Nest to hit the do-it-yourself shelf at the bookstores will be "Abortion For Dummies".

So they forced the release of the names of those supporting Prop 8, which led to harassment, but they won't release the names of these folks? Hypocrisy.

Pray for revival and mercy lest the Lord treat California like something smelly he stepped in and scrape it off his foot into the Pacific.

Anon 11:22- Abortion clinics are already 'back alleys' the push to de-regulate these operations is so intense that in many states, it is likely that your hairdresser has been visited more often by state regulators (licensing boards, OSHA, & cleanliness inspectors) than the local abortion clinic has. This is just the next step but don't kid yourself that legal = safe.
